The online world can surely be crazy sometimes. People tend to assume something else when in fact the reality is way different and celebrities are the ones who get easily targeted by social media users. And it looks like Kim Hee-chul, a member of the South Korean boy band Super Junior, and former NBA basketball player Ha Seung-jin are the latest to draw flak.

In one of his live streams, Seung-jin went drinking with Kim Hee-chul. During the stream, Seung-jin apologized to fans of Nayeon for his previous comments where he said he looks like Nayeon and how there are so many memes about it.

He explained his comments, made in jest, were taken out of context and twisted around to make jokes and memes about the situation. Seung-jin then said 'sorry' to Hee-chul. But, according to Twitter users, the entire interaction between Seung-jin and Hee-chul was twisted once again on popular South Korean online forum DC Inside. Despite the explanation, 'anti-fans', as they're commonly called, made it seem like Hee-chul, too, was making fun of Nayeon for looking like Seung-jin.

Now, online comments can be brutal and Hee-chul had to bear the brunt and had to deal with all the hatred. Observing the entire situation, Seung-jin posted a public apology which — as explained by Twitter user @okchuuu — read, “I am sorry for the recent video, but I wrote it down. Last week or so, during a live Twitch broadcast, I mentioned some of their real names, which made them very uncomfortable. Recognizing that I made a very big mistake after the broadcast, I immediately, contacted the parties concerned and apologized for making them uncomfortable and perplexing by speaking out their real names. Since then, the edited video on my YouTube channel has been uploaded again, causing, inconvenience to them and making them embarrassed. It was a light-up highlight video, so I couldn’t monitor the entire contents.”

The entire situation was explained by Twitter user @okchuuu who, in a long thread, wrote, "I'm not sure if i can talk abt this but here is what actually just happened with heechul."

The user went on to explain the situation further and said, "HERE IS TO SOME OF YOU WHO STILL DONT GET IT: Ha Seungjin turned on a livestream few days ago and he just went out drinking with heechul. He knows who heechul dates so he said this to heechul "i'm so sorry to n*y***n's fans" and explaining there are so memes about..."

He added, “After deleting the video, I apologized again and again to the people involved. I sincerely apologize to the unimaginable damage to those whose real names have been mentioned. I will be careful not to make rash remarks or actions.” The former basketball player then concluded, “I sincerely apologize to the fans mentioned above, I am sorry.”

The apology has surfaced online and there are many reactions to it. However, MEA World Wide (MEAWW) cannot independently verify the source of it and the story will be updated as per new reports.
