The 25-year-old rapper was arrested after he was found with Oxycodone pills and nearly $75K cash during a traffic stop

Kodak Black, who is scheduled to hit the stage of Rolling Loud 2022 on July 22, was arrested on Friday, July 14, after his car was searched by the troopers during a traffic stop. The news comes months after the ‘Super Gremlin’ hitmaker was put behind bars in January 2022 for trespassing at Pompano Beach, the area where he grew up.
 
According to TMZ, the rapper was commuting in a vehicle with tints darker than allowed legally. Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill Kahan Kapri, was traveling in a Dodge Durango in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida when the arrest took place. Kodak Black has time and again got in trouble with the law. The acclaimed hip-hop artist was previously arrested and sentenced to 48 months in prison in June 2020, a case stemmed from federal weapons charges in 2019.

Why was Kodak Black arrested again?

According to TMZ, the 25-year-old rapper was arrested after he was found with Oxycodone pills and nearly $75K cash during a traffic stop. To be specific, Kodak Black was carrying 31 Oxycodone pills, a news which was also confirmed by Highway Patrol confirmed to The US Sun.

According to reports, Florida Highway Patrol troopers conducted a traffic stop on Friday afternoon. They noticed his car’s windows had darker tints than the legal limit. On further search, it was revealed that the vehicle's registration and license were expired. The cops apparently smelled a strong odor of marijuana leading to a search of his car. TMZ reported that the Florida native was arrested and taken to the Broward County Jail.
 
Fox News journalist Andy Slater too confirmed the news in a tweet saying, “SLATER SCOOP: Kodak Black was arrested on Friday in South Florida. Cops pulled over the rapper and during a search found 30+ Oxycodone pills and over $50,000 in cash, multiple sources tell me.” To reiterate, Kodak Black is scheduled to play E11EVEN as part of Miami's Rolling Loud Weekend.

Social media users rushed to Twitter and trolled Kodak Black for frequently getting arrested. “Being a Kodak fan is knowing that every time u get on social media there’s a chance u might see a post that says he got arrested”, joked one as another posted, “Kodak Black arrested? Good, I hope the sad sack of wasted air go to jail and they throw away the key. Too many of ya’ll coddle predators even after Cosby and R. Kelly. F**k him.” Another stated, “Atlantic Records’s end of fiscal quarter actually corresponds directly to each time Kodak Black is arrested.” An individual noted, “Kodak black always get arrested right before Rolling Loud.”
