Kobe Bryant memorial: Beyonce performs NBA legend’s favorite song ‘XO’ and ‘Halo’ as the crowd sings along

The memorial service for Kobe and Gianna Bryant started with Beyonce performing "Kobe's favorite song", 'XO'. She said, "I’m here because I love Kobe" and asked the guests at the LA Staples Center to join in with her, for it to be loud enough to reach Kobe and Gianna. The performance of this song was followed by 'Halo'. 

At the end of the performance, Beyonce blew a kiss to Vanessa and her family and a glimpse of a side view of Vanessa was shown. Fans are heartbroken and yet are sharing prayers for the family. One fan wrote, "That side view of Vanessa Bryant. I can only imagine her pain today and forever. #RememberingKobeandGianna #KobeFarewell."

Fans on Twitter couldn't help but turn emotional when Beyonce performed 'Halo'. One fan wrote, "#kobememorial #KobeFarewell #KobeandGianna tuned in for now.... Beyonce is singing “Halo”.....the place is packed awash in purple.... #RIPMamba #RIPGIANNA." Another wrote, "Oh, Girl, not Halo!! I'm a mess already! #KobeFarewell"

Fans also said that Beyonce was killing it! One fan wrote, "Beyonce is straight up killin it right now #KobeFarewell." Some fans also said that the memorial started on an emotional note with Beyonce's performance. A fan wrote, "I can’t watch this memorial. I’m already crying and it just started  #kobememorial #KobeFarewell #RIPGIANNA."

Following the performance, the memorial saw clips of Kobe put together with inspiring words by Kobe. While the video was being played, Vanessa and daughters were in tears and fans are in for an emotional memorial service. A fan observed, "Omg Vanessa Bryant and her daughters crying while watching clips of Kobe loudly crying face my heart."

Another fan wrote, "Seeing Vanessa & Natalia in the audience is nice to see, even though this day must be SO hard for them! #KobeFarewell."

Following this, the memorial saw Jimmy Kimmel come on stage to speak about Kobe, Gianna and the others killed in the helicopter crash on January 24.
