Kim Kardashian slammed for 'overindulging' daughter North after she's spotted carrying $10,000 Birkin bag
The Kardashians sure know how to spoil their children for Christmas. This year has been no different with Kim Kardashian gifting daughter North West a $10,000 Hermès Birkin.
The six-year-old was snapped sporting the expensive bag as she made her way to see dad Kanye West perform his 'Mary' opera at the Lincoln Center with her mom and brother Saint, according to Page Six. And that was not all that was eye-catching about her ensemble.
North had paired the lavish handbag with white boots, a pearl choker, and space bun style hair. She completed the look with a robe customized by Kim Kardashian's clothing brand SKIMS Cozy Collection — she wore a pint-sized version of SKIMS' Cozy Knit Robe ($128) and Cozy Knit Pant ($88).
While a $10,000 bag may seem like an incredibly expensive gift to give someone so young, it is possible that the young girl had been just borrowing her mom's bag for the night.
In a throwback photo from their family vacation to Japan, which Kim shared on her Instagram in August, Kim and Saint could be seen leaning on each other while North propped herself up against a red bike while holding her mom's $35,000 Dior bag.
However, that didn't stop social media users from slamming Kim for seemingly going overboard with her presents, with many pointing out that she had also gifted North an incredibly expensive, authentic Michael Jackson jacket.
She and Kanye had gifted North the exact velvet jacket that was worn by the 'King of Pop' for Elizabeth Taylor's 65th birthday party in 1997. The couple won it at an auction for an eye-watering $65,625.
One Twitter user wrote, "Absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary. It's a shame the wealthy don't instill values in their kids and teach them humility instead of literally giving them whatever they want. A kid doesn't know the diff between a Louis V and a Wal-Mart bag. It's the parents who are braggarts."
