Kim Kardashian partied in OJ Simpson's house after his acquittal: 'I didn’t even think it was a big deal'
Although she and her family have been open about how O.J. Simpson's 1995 murder trial caused an irreparable rift in the Kardashian family, Kim Kardashian recently divulged never-before-heard details of the aftermath of the most controversial acquittals in the country's history.
During Sunday’s episode of 'E! True Hollywood Story,' Kim, 38, recalled the devastating impact the trial had on her family when she was just 14 years old. While her father, Robert Kardashian Sr., was representing Simpson, her mother, Kris Jenner, was best friends with the murder victim Nicole Brown.
“My family was always super close — except for the time when my dad was representing O.J. And my mom was Nicole’s best friend,” said the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star. “One day my dad took me and Kourtney into the trial, and then my mom happened to be sitting with Nicole’s family. And we looked over, and my mom’s like looking at us. Like, ‘What are you guys doing here? And why are you sitting on that side?’ That was the first time that my family really got divided.”
The mother-of-four further revealed that being a teenager at the time, she did not understand which side she should support. And since she was closer to her father, she even celebrated at Simpson’s home after he was found not guilty.
“Now if I tell people, like, ‘Oh yeah, I was at uncle O.J.’s house right after the verdict. I didn’t even think it was a big deal,” Kim recalled. “It’s just, like, crazy to me to even think that was normal life.”
Although Kim and her siblings continued to spend time with her mother and her father following their divorce in 1991, the tension brewing in the family became palpable during the trial as the community started lashing out against Robert for supporting 'the Juice.'
“During the trial, we all went to dinner with my dad, and we come back from dinner and on the side of his car, it says, ‘N-word Lover,'” she said. “My dad was so upset that his kids had to witness his car get destroyed.”
