Kanye West says he had a 'magnetic attraction' to Kim Kardashian from the moment he laid eyes on her: 'She was so good and pure'
In an 'E! True Hollywood Story' episode Kim Kardashian revealed that if it was up to her, she would have begun her relationship with her husband, Kanye West, long before they fell for each other.
The couple tied the knot 12 years after they met each other. “I met Kanye in 2002,” the 38-year-old reality star quipped. “He would ask everyone like who I was, and they always said like, ‘Oh she, you know, has a boyfriend.’" They remained friends for years after their initial meeting keeping tabs on the ongoings in each other's lives. “We just always kept on connecting and coming into each other’s lives," she said.
After splitting from her first husband, Kris Humphries, after infamously being married for just 72 hours, Kim and Kanye reunited and developed a romance during a trip to the City of Lights. “And then he invited me to Paris to his fashion show and then that’s when it like happened. That’s when we started our relationship,” she said. “Then I was like, ‘S***, why didn’t this happen sooner?’ It was just right.”
Despite a number of people in Kanye's inner circle trying to convince him against dating Kim, he chose not to heed their opinions. “Everyone would tell him, ‘You can’t be with her. She’s a reality star. She’s going to sink your career,’” Kim said. “And he was just like, ‘But I love her. Like, I don’t care." The 42-year-old rapper also recalled that he was immediately smitten by the 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star from the time he laid his eyes on her. “Anytime I was around her or I saw her, it was a magnetic attraction to this force of energy. She was good, pure, happy, loving, brave, courageous, strong,” he added.
He also expressed his feelings for Kim in his song 'Theraflu.' “I admit I fell in love with Kim … ‘Round the same time she fell in love with him … That’s cool, babygirl, do your thing … Lucky I ain’t had Jay drop him from the team," the lyrics read (West was referring to Jay Z, who then owned the New Jersey Nets, the team Humphries played for at the time).
Kanye and Kim eventually wed in 2014 in Florence, Italy, and have had four children together over the course of their relationship: daughters Chicago, 20 months, and North, 6, and sons Saint, 3, and Psalm, 4 months.
