Did Kim Ji Soo admit he's a sexual predator and bully? Internet says his 'career is over' after apology note
South Korean actor Kim Ji Soo, popular for the KBS series ‘River Where the Moon Rises’, has been accused of a sex offence and being a bully while in Seorabeol Middle School. An anonymous user, who claimed to be a former classmate of 27-year-old Ji Soo, took to Instagram to post the claims and stated that the user has the victim's audio recording as proof of the incident.
The user alleged that the actor bullied the person from 2006 to 2008 writing, "Actor Ji Soo is a perpetrator of school violence", spurring more social media users claiming to be former classmates of the ‘Bad Guys 2’ star to come out and share details of their experiences as well. As soon as the incident blew up on social media, Keyeast, Ji Soo's agency released a statement on March 3 saying: "We are looking at this incident seriously and will do our utmost to verify the facts." The release mentioned that "First, as a very long time has passed since the time that is being addressed, we ask for your understanding about needing time to verify the truth. We will receive reports through email (rpt@keyeast.co.kr) about this matter and collect the information as is without distorting anything. Moreover, if the creators of the posts and the others who came forward will allow, we would like to directly hear their thoughts." Now, the actor himself has released a statement on Wednesday, March 3, to apologize to his fans. Here's what it said.

'The dark past has crushed me'
"I sincerely apologize to the people who suffered because of me. There is no excuse for my past misconduct. They were things that cannot be forgiven. As I started acting, I covered my past. Receiving undeserved attention from the public. I think I've come this far. But in the heart of the past. There was always a feeling of guilt. It's too late to turn back regrets. It always came to me with great anxiety.. The dark past has always crushed me." the statement said, according to a translation on Soompi.
"I want to express my deep atonement to the people who must have suffered for a long time while watching me go about my work as an actor, and I will reflect on and repent my past, which can never be washed away, for the rest of my life. I am tormented and feel guilty about the fact that I have inflicted tremendous damage upon the network, producers, actors, and all of the staff who have been quietly working hard on the drama set [of “River Where the Moon Rises“]. I desperately hope that the drama does not see further damage because of me. Upon my knees, I sincerely apologize to everyone who has been hurt by me," Ji Soo stated in his handwritten apology note.
'No right to accept apology'
Fans did not take the statement lightly. "A big f**k you to anyone who thinks they have a right to accept actor Kim Jisoo’s apology note and the audacity to keep supporting him. Y’all are vile for disregarding all the pain the victims have gone through. If what he did doesn’t disgust you, get some help," said one. "Idk what to feel, shocked? Disturbed? Disgusted? Kim Jisoo was one of my fav actors but now I just want him to get punished. And those claiming “He apologized stop making a big deal” pls reflect on ur words b/c if YOU were one of the victims I’m sure u wouldn’t have said that..." said another.
"KIM JISOO? NOOO ARE YOU KIDDING ME IM SICK TO MY STOMACH," said a fan. Others mentioned how Ji Soo's career is finished. "Kim jisoo's (the male actor) career is over," said a tweet, specifying it was Kim Ji Soo the actor and not Kim Jisoo the singer from Blackpink, whose name began trending as well since she shares her name with the 'When I Was the Most Beautiful' actor.

'Anyone in the KPop industry can be exposed'
Fans are concerned that their K-pop idols are finding themselves in these difficult positions. "The issues about actor kim jisoo are scaring me. it doesn't hide the fact that anyone in the kpop industry can one day be exposed with their wrong doings, even the ones that i look up to the most. i never know how i would react if the people i look up to did the same thing," said one. Even non-fans were disgusted by the revelations. "Im not much of a kdrama fanatic but WHAT THE F**K actor kim jisoo,,, idk who you even are but youre sick", said a tweet.
