Kim Basinger is elated to be a grandmom and happy with her boyfriend, does not care about what haters say
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Once a Hollywood bombshell, Kim Basinger has delivered a number of hits in film and television. The actress has also recieved a number of honors, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a Screen Actors Guild Award, over the years while becoming the people's favorite.
In March, when the 69-year-old star went to attend her only daughter Ireland Balwin's baby shower, she was subjected to some harsh criticism for her look. Her photo was shared on Hollywood Life’s Facebook page, which attracted scathing comments, such as, “She’s lost her beauty,” “I think she had facial work that was not needed. My opinion it doesn’t look good,” “Wtf did she do to her face?! Ladies in Hollywood STOP SCREWING UP YOUR FACES!” and “She really screwed up her face she was so beautiful. What a shame.”

However, the ‘L.A. Confidential’ star brushed it all off as it was reported that she was in a happy place with her hairdresser boyfriend, Mitch Stone, after going through a divorce twice. Basinger’s first marriage was with makeup artist Ron Snyder and the second one was with actor Alec Baldwin, with whom she shares Ireland.
Mother-daughter bond
Basinger and Ireland share a great bond. The ‘Never Say Never Again’ actress shared on an episode of ‘Red Table Talk’ that it was her model daughter, who “brought me out of my shell” as she struggled with agoraphobia, "a type of anxiety disorder." "Agoraphobia involves fearing and avoiding places or situations that might cause panic and feelings of being trapped, helpless or embarrassed,” according to the Mayo Clinic.
Now that Basinger will be a grandmother, her happiness knows no bounds since in January, she put up a post of a photo from a sonogram taken in 1995 on her Instagram. She wrote, “I know it’s hard to read… But in April of 1995, this was a note I wrote on one of my first sonograms of baby Ireland. It said ‘4 white paws and a tail. Like I said to Dr. Liu (my OB), It’s a puppy!’”
She added, “This weekend, 27 years later, I looked at @irelandirelandireland’s newest sonogram and could have sworn she was having a Beagle! Like mother, like daughter…. and a new baby girl coming our way. So looking forward to meeting this little Snoopy in June…”
‘I have a wonderful boyfriend’
Basinger is not just thrilled about becoming a grandmother. She is on cloud nine with Stone. She once said, as per Closer Weekly, “[Our relationship came as a] beautiful surprise. I don’t jump from one person to another. I really love to be with who I’m with.” Recalling her past relationships, she stated, “I truly have no regrets. I try to live every day in the present. The great thing about [growing older] is that you learn from mistakes. You calm down and enjoy [life] more.”
In 2017, Basinger told Georgian Journal, “I have a wonderful boyfriend who I met over 20 years ago. We were just working together and were very good friends. In the last 3 years, we became a couple which was quite surprising to both of us but a beautiful surprise.”
