Bob Lee murder: Text from Khazar Elyassnia on slain tech exec's phone may give insights into relationship
SAN FRANCISO, CALIFORNIA: Accused Nima Momeni’s younger sister Khazar Elyassnia was worried about Cash App founder Bob Lee’s welfare, reveals a text message. Moments before his murder, Khazar wrote, “I know nima came wayyyyy down hard on you." Friday’s court filing, including the formal murder charge against Momeni, revealed that Khazar and Lee were involved in some kind of relationship, however, they didn’t comment on whether it was a romantic one.
"What we have at this point -- and what we've been willing to release to the public -- is the fact that Mr Momeni does have a sister who was connected to Mr Lee and apparently is what connects the two men, but at this time, we're not revealing any more than what's contained in our detention motion," Brook Jenkins said, San Francisco Attorney, during a Friday afternoon, April 14, press conference. She also revealed that the murder suspect and victim discussed whether Elyassnia used any kind of drugs, but refused to share any further information, as per a CBS News reports.

'He enquired about his sister'
The documents state that Lee, the witness, another resident, and Elyassnia drinking at an apartment in the Mission district. After the group spends hours together, Lee and the unnamed witness leave the apartment to get to the tech exec’s room at 1 Hotel San Francisco. The others stayed behind at the place. The witness as per the court document told police Lee received a cell phone call from Nima Momeni, enquiring about his sister. "The conversation was about the Defendant picking up the younger sister from the house where they had earlier met her...(The) the defendant was questioning Victim regarding whether his sister was doing drugs or anything inappropriate... (The) Victim assured Defendant nothing inappropriate had happened," said the witness.
'A direct and clear intent to kill'
Lee and Momeni were seen together leaving Millennium (Tower) as per surveillance camera. Investigators with the help of a nearby camera got access to the videos showing Momeni’s BMW with Lee inside parked in a dark area of Main St after a confrontation ensues on the sidewalk, Lee can be seen stumbling up the street with injury, meanwhile, the BMW races away from the scene. San Francisco police officers on arrival found Lee lying in the street with three stab wounds two striking his chest. He was taken to a San Francisco hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
"One of the stab wounds, showing a direct and clear intent to kill, penetrated Victim's heart. Immediately after stabbing Victim, Defendant threw the kitchen knife, fled the scene in his white BMW at a high rate of speed, and left Victim to slowly die," as per the charging document. The original arraignment set for Friday was delayed until April 25, 2023.
