SANTA BARBARA, CAlIFORNIA: In the midst of their high-profile divorce, Kevin Costner's estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, has stated that she will relocate from their Carpenteria beachfront home, but on one condition.

Following their 18-year marriage, Costner's representative confirmed their separation in May, attributing it to circumstances beyond the 'Yellowstone' actor's control. In an effort to assist Baumgartner in finding a new place to live, Costner has already offered financial support. Additionally, he has been actively advocating for the court to uphold the prenuptial agreement and ensure Baumgartner leave their shared home. However, Baumgartner seeks a portion of the actor's estimated $250M fortune while Costner is trying to retain the majority of his assets.

Christine Baumgartner seeks $248,000 a month

In recent filings with the California Superior Court on June 16, Baumgartner requested $248,000 per month in child support, claiming it was necessary to maintain the lifestyle their childred were used to. She also asked the actor to cover private-school tuition, extracurricular activities, sports and healthcare expenses for their three children. The requested child support amount was much higher than the $38,000 per month Costner offered.

Baumgartner reportedly wants to establish a "suitable separate household," allowing her to move out of the Santa Barbara compound they shared, estimated to be worth $145M. Sources said, “She wants Kevin to provide what they are used to," which includes private jets and luxurious hotels, reported People.

'Christine’s agreement to move out was and is unconditional'

Costner's filing countered Baumgartner's claims, stating that she had not vacated their home as required by the prenuptial agreement, within 30 days, even after filing for divorce. He wrote in the filings, “Christine’s agreement to move out was and is unconditional."

Costner had taken precautions before he married Baumgartner to prevent what happened during his split from Cindy Silva in 1994. During that time, “he found himself without a home base... He never wanted that to happen again.” He reportedly paid Silva $80M as settlement.

With a court hearing scheduled for July 12, Baumgartner expects to receive more information about her financial settlement, which will determine her future residence. She intends to move out of the home by the end of August, once she has a better understanding of the financial arrangements.
