Kevin Costner claims Christine Baumgartner seeks $248K in child support to fund her own plastic surgery
CARPINTERIA, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Costner accused his estranged wife Christine Baumgartner of requesting nearly $250,000 in child support to fund her own plastic surgery and not for their children. The 68-year-old actor alleged in court documents that his forensic accountant has found that his ex-wife has been spending more money for her cosmetic surgery procedures as she spends more than $100,000 just for the procedures.
The document also claimed that Baumgartner's expenses included thousands of dollars in attorney's fees, ATM withdrawals, construction loans, and boutique shopping and stated that her spending had "nothing" to benefit her children, reported Page Six.
Baumgartner claimed the amount requested for child support is 'less'
Costner and Baumgartner share three children, Cayden Wyatt, 16, Hayes Logan, 14, and Grace Avery, 13. The handbag designer, 49, previously stated that the $248,000 a month for child support requested is "less than the amount needed to maintain the children in their accustomed lifestyle."
However, the new court papers stated that the 'Yellowstone' star believes $51,940 a month is the "reasonable" amount that he is currently paying. Ending 18 years of their marriage, Baumgartner filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences." The duo's spat over their finances has topped the headlines since their split in May.
Baumgartner listed Costner's and their family's lavish spending
Despite signing a premarital agreement that details how much spousal support Baumgartner will receive, she has also been trying to hit back on that. In court documents, she accused her ex of trying to deposit $1 million into her bank account in an effort to "force" her into agreeing with the terms of "limited" spousal support. "I cannot make this concession, do not accept payment, and instructed our financial accountant Francis Shelley to return the funds to Kevin," Baumgartner stated at the time.
To substantiate her claims, Baumgartner listed all of Costner's and their family's lavish spending as she revealed how much the 'Waterworld' star made in 2022. Among the list of items, Costner's spending of nearly $2 million to operate their home in Aspen, Colorado, $449,000 on beach club fees, and more than $830,000 in gifts and other expenses were included.
According to the documents, the actor who made $19,517,064.32 before taxes previously requested the court to not release his financial information. Costner pleaded to claim that burglars and fraudsters will cause him "irreparable harm" and will result in "unwanted and embarrassing global media attention," according to Page Six.
