Kelly Preston hugs John Travolta and their two children in final picture on Father's Day, calls him 'best dad'

Just before losing her battle with cancer, Kelly Preston was seen holding her family tight in a heartbreaking final picture on Instagram.
The 57-year-old actress always had a smile on her face, as she kept her health crisis a secret from the outside world. She never mentioned the fact that she was fighting breast cancer on social media and her fans found out the truth only after her death. In fact, the last thing she ever posted on Instagram on June 22 as the family celebrated father's Day together. Preston was seen hugging her husband John Travolta and their two kids, Ella, 20, and son Benjamin, nine.
"Happy Father’s Day to the best one I know, we love you," she captioned it. The 'Grease' actor commented on the post, saying, "I love you all so much." This is not the first time that Preston had paid a sweet tribute to her husband. Back in September, last year, the actress had celebrated 28 successful years of marriage with Travolta with a sweet photo of the couple together.

"To my dearest Johnny, the most wonderful man I know," she wrote. "You have given me hope when I have felt lost, loved me patiently and unconditionally… made me laugh harder than any other human being possible... shared the most beautiful highs and at times lows," she wrote in the caption. "You’re a dream Daddio and make life so much fun!! I trust my love with you implicitly... with you I know I will always be okay no matter what happens... I love you forever and completely."

According to a family statement, released to People Magazine after her death, Preston had been undergoing medical treatment for "some time" but had chosen to keep the fact private. On the morning of July 12, 2020, Kelly Preston, adored wife and mother, passed away following a two-year battle with breast cancer. Choosing to keep her fight private, she had been undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends," the statement read. "She was a bright, beautiful and loving soul who cared deeply about others and who brought life to everything she touched. Her family asks for your understanding of their need for privacy at this time."
Travolta also penned an emotional tribute for his late wife on social media. "It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer," he wrote. "She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many. My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side. Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered." He added that he will be taking some time off to grieve with his kids.
Preston's daughter Ella, also took to social media to dedicate a few lines to her late mother. "I have never met anyone as courageous, strong, beautiful and loving as you," she wrote. "Anyone who is lucky enough to have known you or to have ever been in your presence will agree that you have a glow and a light that never ceases to shine and that makes anyone around you feel instantly happy. Thank you for being there for me no matter what. Thank you for your love. Thank you for your help and thank you for making this world a better place. You have made life so beautiful and I know you will continue to do so always. I love you so much mama."
