Keke Palmer worked 'hard to have an amicable split' before filing restraining order against Darius Jackson
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Keke Palmer reportedly gave her ex-boyfriend Darius Jackson "a lot of chances" before she filed a restraining order against him which was granted by the court this week.
The 30-year-old actress was also granted temporary sole legal and physical custody of her eight-month-old son Leodis whom she shares with Jackson, according to People.

Keke Palmer wanted to prioritize her baby's safety
Speaking to People, a source close to the situation said Palmer "did what she had to do," despite working "hard to have an amicable split."
"She gave him a lot of chances to do the right thing. Keke tried so hard to have an amicable split and arrangement [custody]," the source added.
"She needed to prioritize her safety and the safety of her baby. She wants the best for Leo. She did not want it to get to this point. But she did what she had to do," the source continued.

Keke Palmer detailed multiple allegations of physical abuse in the court filing
According to court documents reviewed by the outlet, the 'Nope' actress filed her request for full legal and physical custody of her son on Thursday, November 9, as detailed multiple accusations of physical abuse.
Palmer also filed a request at the Los Angeles court for a domestic violence restraining order against her former boyfriend Jackson.

In the declaration attached to the filing at California Superior Court on Thursday, November 9, the singer alleged, "Darius trespassed into my home without my knowledge or consent, threatened me, then physically attacked me — lunging for my neck, striking me, throwing me over the couch, and stealing my phone when I told him I was going to call the police."
The documents contained screenshots of security footage of a male attacking a female over a sofa. She also accused Jackson of abusing her several times in the last two years.
Palmer alleged that there were "many instances of physical violence, including striking and grabbing me around the neck, descriptions of Darius destroying my personal property."
The reportedly destroyed items included her "diaries and prescription eyeglasses, throwing my belongings into the street, throwing my car keys to prevent me from driving away."

As per the filing, the alleged abuse included Jackson "hitting me in front of our son, spewing profanities about me to our son, threatening to kill himself with a gun if I left him, harassment, and other physical and emotional abuse."
According to the temporary restraining order granted by a Los Angeles County judge, Jackson is required to stay at least 100 yards away from Leodis and Palmer.
He is also required to stay away the same distance from any schooling or childcare that has been established for his eight-month-old.
