Kayleigh McEnany, former White House press secretary during Donald Trump's administration, has said that President Joe Biden shouldn't weigh in on the Derek Chauvin trial and "inflame the tensions". On Tuesday, when she appeared on Fox News, McEnany was asked to comment on Rep Maxine Waters' remarks about the Chauvin trial. Waters had told protesters to "stay on the street" and "to get more confrontational" if Chauvin was found not guilty, Reuters reported. This comment had infact led to defense attorney Eric Nelson to ask the judge for a mistrial.

McEnany said, "We heard Judge [Peter] Cahill go on to caution elected officials and say, I urge you not to weigh in, hours before or a half a day before the president himself weighs in."

She then added, "I’m glad he at least waited until the jury was sequestered, but I think that the country is such a tinderbox right now, especially in Minneapolis. There’s so much hurt and pain, and I think it’s the role of the president of the United States to stay back, to not inflame the tensions."

This came after President Joe Biden shared his opinion regarding the trial when the jury had gathered to come to a consensus regarding the verdict. He had said, "I'm praying the verdict is the right verdict,” Biden also spoke of the evidence that were presented during the trial and said, “Which is — I think it is overwhelming, in my view."

She also claimed that Trump too had personally gotten in touch with George Floyd's family and appreciated Biden's move to do the same as well.

She said, "But it’s such a tinderbox moment, and I think he should have just reserved comment and said he’s praying for the family, as we all are."

Many have reacted to the same on Twitter and called out her opinion. One sarcastic user tweeted, "You tell 'em, Bull$hit Barbie; perhaps Pres. Biden *should've* addressed the crowd outside of the courthouse, spewed a bunch of lies to them to REALLY rile them up, then, sat back delighted as they trashed the bldg/& those protecting it. ...THAT would've been okay, right?Face with rolling eyes."

One user also wrote, "SNL should just give up. Nobody can top McEnany for laughs." Another user said, "I didn't realize she went into stand-up comedy as her new profession."

Another user tweeted, "Thank God for Jen Psaki!! She makes Kayleigh look like a complete amateur... because she actually IS!" Another added to this and said, "Kayleigh makes Kayleigh look like an amateur. Jen makes Kayleigh look like a fool." Another user said, "Anytime McAninny says "I think", that automatically turns the whole sentence into a lie, regardless of whatever else it contains."

One user referred to how Trump had given pardons and tweeted, "I am positive President Biden won't be giving pardons to his guilty associates, giving medals to white supremacists or expect that AG to be his own lawyer." Another user said, "Oh like when Trump said the judge overseeing a case against Trump was biased because the judge is “Mexican”?"
