LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Katy Perry recently sent the Internet into a frenzy with just two words when she reacted to recently released pictures of Taylor Swift and her rumored beau, Travis Kelce, from the duo's supposed New York City date. 

While Swift and Kelce are on the road to "hard launch" their romance, Perry left fans scrambling for their dictionaries to decipher her message.

Naturally, it has ignited a wave of speculation and intrigue, with fans and onlookers attempting to decipher the meaning behind these concise yet loaded words.

While the term might seem a bit cryptic, "ship" or shipping typically refers to endorsing or supporting a romantic relationship between two individuals. The word's usage is said to have started in the fanfiction and fandom circles. 

So, it seems like Perry is on the boat when it comes to supporting the romance of Swift and Kelce, which has taken the Internet by storm.

Swift's recent attendance at Kansas City Chiefs games to support her rumored partner, NFL star Kelce, generated a wave of excitement among fans. In the wake of the pop singer's attendance, his jersey sales reportedly skyrocketed by nearly 400 percent within just two days.

Things got more interesting as Swift and Kelce both made appearances during the 'Saturday Night Live' Season 49 premiere and proceeded to attend an afterparty after dining together, as per PEOPLE Magazine

The duo was spotted holding hands and seemed "happy and smiley" as per the partygoers.

Soon after Katy Perry left the comment under Vogue's post, netizens came up with a multitude of theories about what she might be suggesting and shared their thoughts, especially on X (formerly Twitter). 

One inquired, "who does katy perry ship” tayvis," attaching a clip from Perry's song.

"What exactly is "I Ship" supposed to mean anyways?" stated one. 

Another explained, "It seems like Katy Perry is expressing support for the relationship between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce by saying "I ship," which is internet slang for showing approval or support for a romantic pairing. It's nice to see a positive response!"

A person wrote, "for those wondering what “i ship” means," and attached a screenshot from Urban Dictonary's explanation. 

"This is more like a code word than a comment!" mocked a user.

Another said, "Why would Katy Perry comment on Taylor Swifts photos ? I thought they weren’t friends."
