Katy Perry and Taylor Swift declare 'peace at last' with cookies and fans speculate over title of their possible collaboration
Although they never accepted it, the stars' complicated relationship seemingly inspired their songs 'Bad Blood' and 'Swish Swish'.
Pop stars Katy Perry and Taylor Swift are putting their years-long feud behind them, declaring their newfound friendship on Instagram with a plate of chocolate chip cookies! Katy Perry posted a photo of a plate of chocolate chip cookies with “Peace at last” written in red icing above the treats. Two sprinkled peace signs were also drawn on each side of the icing phrase. "feels good 🧡 @taylorswift," she captioned it, tagging her location as "Let's Be Friends."
Taylor Swift commented with 13 pink heart emojis -- her lucky number that she often references. Some fans believe this could be a sign that Perry and Swift are collaborating, and this is an easter egg from Swift. Perry said she was "open" to working with Swift, earlier this year. Fans are also speculating that 'Let's Be Friends' could be the title of the possible collaboration.
Perry had posted a similarly worded tweet, declaring that Swift and she are now friends. "feels good taylorswift @ Let's Be Friends" read the tweet. Although neither the Instagram post nor the tweet mentioned a collab between the artistes, Perry had dropped another cryptic Instagram post and tweet shortly before the Swift outreach which may be hinting on a collaboration.
The singers marked the end of their feud a year ago, with a literal olive branch. Swift posted an Instagram story of the wreath that Perry sent her ahead of her first Reputation world tour show in May 2018. "Thank you, Katy," Swift wrote with a double heart emoji. Although they never accepted it, the stars' complicated relationship seemingly inspired their songs 'Bad Blood' and 'Swish Swish'.
The reason for the feud remains unclear, but Perry had said on the 'Late Late Show' that it started over backup dancers. About her 2014 single 'Bad Blood', Swift said that it was about another female artiste who tried to "sabotage an entire arena tour," but never revealed the alleged artiste's identity.
