‘Dear Class of 2020’: Katy Perry shows off baby bump, clueless fans ask her to 'lay off the beer'
Katy Perry is pregnant with her first child with fiance Orlando Bloom and the world is waiting with bated breath to welcome the ‘Roar’ singer’s baby. However, it seems like Perry’s pregnancy news wasn’t such a big deal after all, as many internet users on watching her put her baby bump on the display during her ‘Dear Class of 2020’ performance have asked in surprise if she’s pregnant.
Perry appeared on the screen following former president Barack Obama’s motivational speech. With her hair fashioned in curls and an off-shoulder white dress, the mother-to-be looked gorgeous tonight (June 7). Before performing her new single ‘Daises’, she addressed the graduates saying, "Lets turn those tassels and make it kind of official -- whether you've got a real cap and a tassel or an iPhone taped to a pizza box. This is the moment for everyone around the globe to graduate at once. No matter where you are, remember: The tassel goes from right to left." She concluded her performance with 2010’s ‘Firework’.
The internet, however, has reacted to a different aspect concerning Perry. Several of them seem surprised to learn that she’s pregnant. While one asked, “Omg is katy perry,,, you know,,, pregnant?” another added, “Guys i’m not trying to be rude, but i think katy perry might be pregnant ??”
A few, delighted to know that Perry would be welcoming her bundle of joy soon are foreseeing a greater trend. “Katy Perry will trend a number one worldwide when she gives birth, mark my words!,” wrote one. Meanwhile, a few still weren’t able to believe that Perry is pregnant and, are blaming burgers for her fully grown stomach. While one obtuse Twitter user wrote, “All the tabloids saying that katy perry is pregnant it’s just in n out burger!”
And some asked her to follow in the footsteps of Adele and shed the extra pounds. “Holee Sheeet. #KatyPerry and #Adele switched bodies. Lay off the BEER, Katy!,” read another comment. The rest of her fans were simpy glad she took to the stage and put up a brilliant show. “How can miss Katy Perry belt her songs and perform while she's having a huge baby bump?,” said one fan.
Perry announced her pregnancy in March 2020. She’s engaged to her long-term boyfriend Orlando since 2016.
