Katy Perry explains why she made three-month sober pact with her fiance Orlando Bloom
SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA: Katy Perry has provided some clarification regarding the decision she made to sign a three-month sober pact with her fiance Orlando Bloom early this year. The co-founder of De Soi, a line of non-alcoholic aperitifs told People in March that she and Orlando had been sober for five weeks, "I made a promise. Three months."
The singer later disclosed in another interview that she started the brief dry period because she saw it as "an opportunity to reset." The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer stated, "We reset after President's Day, and it was a great opportunity to just let my body bounce back a little bit." Katy will apparently "not really" drink during the week, however "on the weekend I'll indulge a little bit," indicating that she "had a pretty good relationship with just finding balance."

Why did Kary Perry make a sober pact with Orlando Bloom?
The 'Teenage Dream' singer-songwriter said that while she is "not really drinking" on weeknights, "but on the weekend I'll indulge a little bit." She nevertheless interpreted the sober pact as a show of support for Bloom, 46. "We did this because he's shooting a movie in London right now that's taking every ounce of his focus, and so I wanted that opportunity to be supportive," stated Perry. "It's really hard to do anything, whether that's doing a cleanse or a reset, unless your partner's doing it. So, doing it together makes it so much easier."
'I love to have my reset moments'
Perry claims she does not "really identify with any labels as far as sober or whatever," but she adds, "I love to have my reset moments, especially being 38, balancing the intensity of my career and having a toddler who loves to run." The Grammy nominee, who has a 2-year-old daughter named Daisy Dove with actor Bloom, is presently preparing for the last few performances of her Las Vegas residency Play, which will end in October. She jokes, "I'm packing up that 20-foot toilet, and it is going bye-bye forever."
