Comedian and actress Kathy Griffin came out in support of Amber Heard while taking a sly dig at Johnny Depp after the latter won the defamation trial against the ‘Aquaman’ actress. Amber Heard has been asked by the court to pay a hefty $15million to Depp, whereas, the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star has to pay $2million in damages.
 
Kathy Griffin did not shy away at all while discussing Johnny Depp’s trial on Brian Karem's ‘Just Ask the Question’ podcast. The 61-year-old dubbed the Hollywood biggie as “big orange fat bloated boozebag.” Griffin admitted that was “friends with Amber Heard” before revealing that she believed her side of the story. The Primetime Emmy Award winner called the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard trial verdict "really disturbing.”

‘He looks like Donald Trump with a ponytail’

On the podcast, Kathy Griffin labeled Johnny Depp “gross” adding, “These Johnny Depp stans that are talking about this trial and yet they refuse to show pictures of what he looks like now, which is a big orange fat bloated boozebag.” Continuing her rant against the 58-year-old star, Griffin said, “He looks like Donald Trump with a ponytail. And so they keep sticking up for him and being like, 'Amber is taking down Johnny! He's so gorgeous and dreamy!'”
 
Griffin added, “I 'm like, okay, he talks like Kanye when Kanye had his jaw wired. He has a fake accent like when Madonna turned British. So, you know, who are we kidding here?" For the uninitiated, Depp had sued Amber Heard for $50 million after she wrote an op-ed published in the Washington Post claiming to be a survivor of domestic abuse. Heard had counter-sued Depp for a whopping $100million.
 

‘Sorry Kathy you are old news and dated’

Social media users did not waste any time in crucifying Kathy Griffin over her remarks on Johnny Depp. “I seem to remember Kathy Griffin having a problem with being cancelled. Perhaps she should stick to comedy unless it was her that s**t the bed”, said one Depp fan as another claimed, “I cant stand Kathy Griffin.” Another user stated, “This is so Kathy Griffin. Clawing her way and desperately trying to be relevant. Sorry Kathy you are old news and dated. You need a new gig.”
 
The next one shared, “Seriously, Kathy Griffin mocked Johnny Depp's looks? Does she even own a mirror, or is she too scared to look at herself?” Meanwhile, one person said, “Kathy Griffin always embarrasses herself with her ignorant comments.” One individual asserted, “Why is Kathy Griffin still talking? Has anyone ever really listened to her?” And, another concluded, “Kathy Griffin apparently you didn’t learn anything when it was you that was left trying to explain yourself. You are the last person that we want to hear from on the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial.  Did you not hear her confess to hitting him or evidence?”
