There was no holding back Kathy Griffin when she appeared on ‘The View’ and claimed herself to be a victim of “misogyny and ageism”. She slammed her former employer CNN for double standards as she was fired from her job because of a controversial photo, while Jeffery Toobin still works there despite his 'Zoom masturbation' scandal and his mistress scandals.

When ‘The View’ co-host Ana Navarro asked Griffin of her opinion over Representative Paul Gosar getting a "pass" after tweeting an anime video that showed him murdering Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and attacking President Joe Biden with two swords, she ignored it and went on to vent about her personal issues.

The 61-year-old said, “I think there’s another conversation that we’re not ready to have yet in this country, unfortunately. We’re hopefully making some strides, finally, with race. We’re having conversations, at least. But I think that we haven’t really talked about the level of misogyny and ageism that went along with all of that. I mean, I got canned from CNN, which hurt me personally because I had loved that gig.”

She continued, “Then for me to watch Jeffrey Toobin talking about woman’s choice after he masturbated on a Zoom call, which I know sounds funny but maybe it wasn’t so funny for the other ladies who worked at The Atlantic [this is incorrect; he worked for The New Yorker] that had to see that. When a guy does something, we joke about it and I do believe there is a double standard.”

Griffin was the co-host of CNN's annual New Year's Eve coverage, but in May 2017 she was asked to leave after a photo shoot where she was featured holding up a bloody severed head meant to resemble then-president Donald Trump. She faced a lot of flak at the time and also lost several endorsement deals.

On the other hand, after Toobin’s “Zoom d*** call” between members of the New Yorker and WNYC radio in October 2020, he received only an eight-month suspension from CNN. The 61-year-old legal analyst still insists that he thought he switched off his camera and audio before the act. Not just that, Toobin also attracted controversy after it was found that he reportedly pressurized his mistress Casey Greenfield to have an abortion in 2008. But despite all these, he was taken back by CNN in June 2021.

Meanwhile, people on the internet have reacted to Griffin’s recent rant. A user tweeted, “I can’t stand her guts but she has a point.” “CNN, Kathy and Toobin are all nasty ……so I’m grabbing some [popcorn],” the second one wrote. “yeah I'm SO sure that offended Griffin. The crap that she spews out of her mouth on stage, please,” the third user added.
