Former 'The Real Housewives of Orange County' star Kara Keough Bosworth shared a heartbreaking tribute to her late son, McCoy Casey, on Saturday, June 6. “You would have been two months old today,” she wrote.

On April 14,  McCoy Casey Bosworth died from complications during childbirth. He was born on April 6. But During the course of his birth, he experienced shoulder dystocia and a compressed umbilical cord.

Bosworth wrote on her latest Instagram post, along with a photo of McCoy in the hospital with tubes and drips attached to him, “You’d have found your favorite pacifier by now, and I’d be grateful that I was finally able to get those first (beautiful) 6+ hour stretches of sleep that make me feel like a Disney Princess with birds tweeting above my head.”

She wrote about her grief and how it was affecting her: “Instead, I’m clocking in 12+ hours every night because sleeping is decidedly easier than my waking hours. We should be cleaning up your blowouts, instead, we’re dealing with our own shit. At this point, you would be finding your voice - squawking and squealing and making our hearts explode.”

“Our hearts have still detonated, but for different reasons,” Bosworth wrote. “I should be looking at your face for most of my day, instead I have to search for you elsewhere. I see you in songs, in the sky, in the sea, in your sister’s face, in your daddy’s arms. I’ll keep looking for you for as long as I live. Being without you is hard, but being your mom is one of my favorite things about myself. I love you, McCoy Casey.”

A week after McCoy’s death, 31-year-old Bosworth, the daughter of ‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ star Jeana Keough, started a GoFundMe campaign in hopes of raising money for charity in honor of McCoy. Called “McCoy’s Warriors,” the fundraiser will benefit March of Dimes, a nonprofit organization focused on improving the health of mothers and babies.

The fund will be used to help encourage birth equity among all races, and from all socioeconomic backgrounds, offer full-term loss support to parents, and support NICU parents during and after hospital stays. At the time of writing this, the fund had achieved $41,956 of its $75,000 goal.

Last month, on what would have been McCoy’s one month anniversary, Bosworth shared another heartbreaking tribute to her son. “You would have been 1 month old today.” she wrote. “Your baby acne would be gearing up. You would be getting the hang of pacifiers, sorting out your days and nights, and figuring out how to focus your eyes without them involuntarily crossing.”
