Kanye West slams Jennifer Aniston after she tells fans not to vote for rapper: 'Friends wasn't funny either'
Kanye West has taken a dig at Jennifer Aniston after she urged her fans and followers on Instagram to not vote for the rapper, who is running for the presidency. In response to Aniston saying that "it's not funny to vote for Kanye", the 43-year-old rapper retorted that her iconic series ‘Friends’ that ran from 1994 to 2004 “wasn’t funny either”.
A few days back, Aniston posted an Instagram message that went viral. In the post, the Golden Globe winner was seen wearing a casual blue sweatshirt along with a mask and shades as she wrote in the caption, “#IVOTED for @joebiden and @kamalaharris. I dropped my ballot off, and I did it early. I voted for them because right now this country is more divided than ever. Right now, a few men in power are deciding what women can and can’t do with their own bodies. Our current President has decided that racism is a non-issue. He has repeatedly and publicly ignored science... too many people have died. I urge you to really consider who is going to be most affected by this election if we stay on the track we’re on right now... your daughters, the LGBTQ+ community, our Black brothers and sisters, the elderly with health conditions, and your future kids and grandkids (who will be tasked with saving a planet that our leadership refuses to believe is hurting)."
“This whole thing isn’t about one candidate or one single issue, it’s about the future of this country and of the world. Vote for equal human rights, for love, and for decency,” she said before adding at the end: “It’s not funny to vote for Kanye. I don’t know how else to say it. Please be responsible.”
Not one to let it go, West quickly gave it back to her. On Tuesday, October 27, the ‘I Love It’ singer posted a screenshot of a Vanity Fair article, the headline of which read, “Jennifer Aniston Endorses Joe Biden, Tells Fans ‘It’s Not Funny to Vote for Kanye.’” He captioned the screengrab as “Wow that Rogan interview got em shook Let’s gooooooooo.” While in another tweet, he wrote: “Friends wasn’t funny either.” Both the tweets have now been deleted.
West’s tweets also referred to his recent comment on Joe Rogan’s podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, where he spoke about thinking to abort his seven-year-old daughter North when Kim was pregnant with her. “I don’t even like to say out loud what I said in South Carolina. People saw this clip of me crying and some people didn’t know what I was crying about. But I was crying about that there was a possible chance…that we — Kim and I — didn’t make the family that we have today. That’s my most family-friendly way to word that. The idea of [abortion] just tears me up inside, that I was a part of a culture that promotes this kind of thing,” he added.
Along with West, many on the internet also started trolling Aniston. Some even called her ‘Karen’ as one wrote, “Aniston is officially Karen.” Another one said, “Interesting to see her comments about how president has made racism a non issue. It’s interesting because she was on ‘Friends’, the 6 characters lived in NYC. ALL white. You mean to tell me there wasn’t a single person of color to befriend in a city the size of NYC???”
“Jennifer Aniston tells fans not to vote for Kanye and now Julia Roberts agrees with Aniston. What's with these entitled liberal white women telling us how to vote? Julia Roberts lauds Jennifer Aniston as Kanye West fans criticize 'Friends' star,” commented the third person, while the fourth one added: “When will these celebrities realize we do not care who they support! Such a joke."
