What is Kanye West doing in Haiti? Dance video goes viral as rapper expresses wish 'to build a city'

The reason for West’s visit to Haiti is still not clear as the rapper has not posted any details on Twitter, however, a lot of people have been tweeting that he's there to build a city

Kanye West made a surprise visit to Haiti just a week after he was spotted in Jamaica. Haitian President Jovenel Moise confirmed the news when he shared a few photos from the meet and greet via Twitter. Kanye West and the Haitian president can be seen wearing masks in the social media post. The rapper wore a hoodie, dark pants and his signature sneakers.

The reason for Kanye West’s visit to Haiti is still not clear as the Grammy-winning artist has not posted any details on his Twitter account, however, a lot of people from Haiti, have been tweeting that the artist is apparently there to build a city. According to the publication Voice of America, the 43-year hip-hop entrepreneur landed at the Cape Haitien international airport on Friday morning and was welcomed by the president. President Moise accompanied West on a visit to two picturesque islands namely Labadee island and Ile de la Tortue (Tortuga island).

A video of Kanye West dancing with the locals is also doing the rounds on the Internet. The ‘College Dropout’ hit-maker seemed to be in a joyous mood as he tries to match his steps with the locals while dancing.

As soon as the news of Kanye West visiting Haiti, the rumours of him building a city there also made their way on the Internet. Keeping his visit in mind, the social media users stormed Twitter to express their opinions. One user said, “So Kanye: Endless rants. Attempted a run for president of the country. Wants to wear Jordan’s so bad. Demands board seats at companies. Wants to get all artists their masters back. Only gave the artist he signed back 50%. Trying to build a city in Haiti.” One said, “Kanye wants to build a city on Haiti. Nigga help Chicago build things for its youth first please”

One person said, “Sooo Kanye going to Haiti was just an excuse to talk about the Clintons and bring up a yt family w/Haitian kids? Nobody cares& Joe’s gonna WIN!!!!” Another one added, “Kanye said he building a city in Haiti. He better not be playing because them Zoes do not play about their country. They don’t joke about Haiti and using their country for likes” One tweeted, “Kanye West with the Haitian President the US imposed on Haiti and there’s electricity for the residents of Cap Haiten. KW leaves and bye electricity”

According to the Daily Mail, Haiti’s Tourism Ministry said that the multiple award-winning artist was travelling to visit a plant breeding center in the northwest which was being launched by the president. Tennis star Naomi Osaka was also spotted at the airport chatting with Kanye West.

Kanye West has been travelling too much lately. Before, Haiti, the rapper was spotted in Jamaica, where he was spotted without a mask with the reggae music star Buju Banton and it caused quite an uproar on the social media.
