After actor Jussie Smollett was found guilty of staging a racist, homophobic attack on himself, internet users are rejoicing at his conviction. On Thursday, December 9, Smollett was convicted in five out of six counts of disorderly conduct. He was on trial for a January 2019 incident when the former 'Empire' star complained to the police that he was the victim of a hate crime.

As social media netizens celebrate the simultaneous conviction of Josh Duggar and Jussie Smollett, there are also rising demands for appropriate action against the A-lister celebrities or lawmakers who perpetuated the Jussie Smollett hoax. Though most of these demands are emanating from proclaimed right-wingers, they are vehemently criticizing Vice-President Kamala Harris, former FLOTUS Michelle Obama, and singer Ariana Grande, and even President Joe Biden among others. All of them had actively voiced their support to Smollett in the wake of his 2019 claim.

In 2019, Smollett was indicted for paying Nigerian brothers Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo for staging a racist and homophobic MAGA attack on himself and was charged with sixteen counts of lying to the police and providing false information. All of those were dismissed by Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx with a $10,000 bail which was forfeited as the only real penalty. Kim Foxx allegedly colluded with former first lady Michelle Obama aide and lawyer Tina Tchen to protect Smollett.

Foxx's actions drew mass outrage leading to special prosecutor Dan Webb and his team bringing six new disorderly conduct charges against him in 2020. But a year before that, VP Harris had painted Smollett as the "kindest and gentlest human beings" on Twitter. The old tweet resurfaced on the Internet ahead of the trial and VP Harris is being brutally trolled for it.

U.S. Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was also one among the supporters of Smollett

In a tweet from January 29, 2019, VP Harris wrote, "@JussieSmollett is one of the kindest, most gentle human beings I know. I'm praying for his quick recovery. This was an attempted modern day lynching. No one should have to fear for their life because of their sexuality or color of their skin. We must confront this hate."As soon as the old tweet resurfaced, Harris was accused of igniting a race war. And now social media is trolling her and the "corporate media outlets" who helped perpetuate Smollett's lies.

"What action will Twitter take to sanction those responsible for perpetuating the #JussieSmollett hoax, which includes everyone from POTUS, VP, and every corporate media outlet," alt-right media person Mike Cernovich.

Another user wrote, "Jussie Smollett. Guilty. So are Nancy Pelosi, Kamala Harris, Eric Swalwell, and, well, there are just too many too quick to draw a conclusion, why wait for evidence Democrat virtue signaling politicians to name here guilty of stupidity. We'll let Nancy stand in."

One user shared a list of screenshots of liberal politicians who spoke in support of Smollett back in 2019. The list included the whos who of the US Government at the moment, including Biden, Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Lori Lightfoot, Eric Swalwell, Joy-Ann Reid and Rashida Talib, among others. "So who's going to apologize first and admit they're wrong?" the user tweeted.

A fourth user retweeted Ariana Grande's old tweet on Smollett and asked, "This didn't age well did it?" Back  in 2019, Grande had expressed her solidarity with Smollett and tweeted, "What happened to jussie makes me really fucking sick to my stomach. i can’t believe shit like this is really still happening everyday. what kind of world ? sending all of the healing energy / love i possibly can and hoping for change. what can we do ? tell me & i’m there."

Not only Grande, several other Hollywood celebrities had also come out in support of Smollett back in 2019 when he first made the fake claims in public. The list included Taraji P. Henson, Ava Duvernay, Anthony Anderson, Lena Waithe, and Danielle Brooks, among others. They have not issued any comment at present following his conviction over fake claims.
