Kai Cenat discloses inspiration behind '24 hours 7 days' jail livestream: 'I wanted to make it'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Twitch streamer and YouTuber, Kai Cenat recently started his 24 hours 7 days stream from jail. During this stream, Cenat revealed what inspired the viral prison stream.
Kai Cenat was charged with inciting a riot, unlawful assembly, and "a few other charges" by NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey after being arrested by the department.
Why is Kai Cenat streaming from jail?
Cenat said after speaking with other prisoners he thought of streaming from jail. The Twitch streamer revealed that the show named '60 Days In' inspired him to create the jail stream.
'60 Days In' is an A&E television docuseries that follows volunteers incarcerated as undercover prisoners for 60 days. The show premiered in 2016 and has since been renewed for multiple seasons, with the first season featuring a cast made up entirely of former inmates.
Kai Cenat spoke about the time limit in a prison to do certain work. He stated, "Whole point of this for real like the whole thing when I was watching '60 Days in' I liked the show."
He went on to say, "It is crazy and I wanted to make it but at the same time it's a good way to show the people why you don't want to be here (in prison). We're waking up at 6, we complain at every meal we get, the water is freezing cold, we got minutes bro."
He further added, "We could have got if I wanted to, I could have cheat system got us some nice hot water. Yo bro just bring the truck they don't even know it's a truck that comes every time at 11.00 through a tube from a container on the back of a truck."
He then concluded, "We have 20 minutes to use the thing and it's cold water and if you miss it you miss it... 20 minutes so everybody bro I don't want I'll be in my shower with a big speaker bumping baby in them."
Kai Cenat's heroic gesture to protect a girl
With his '7 Days In' livestream, Kai Cenat recently gained popularity, especially after a video of him expressing his attachment to a prisoner went viral.
One girl was seated on top of a bed in her detention cell, and Cenat was seen in the footage too with other prisoners.
"Though I don't know your name, miss, I've seen you from across the cell, and I just gotta admit that you've got my attention, you're making me want to say..." Cenat, then launched into an impromptu serenade to woo the girl during their talk.
When the song was over, the woman laughed and flushed. "I'm the one for her, you feel me?" Cenat said with confidence as he turned to face someone else.
The woman asked, "So you can protect me?" She was reassured by Cenat, "I can protect you. What do you want me to do, that [N-word] right now?" She responded, "All of them, right now."
"Who?" Cenat enquired. "Make them known." Once the woman pointed out a man, they made their way to the middle of the cell where Cenat yelled in protest, "You see this one right here? She's mine!"
The man protested, shouting, "No!" Relentlessly, Cenat bellowed over the din, warning, "Hey, hey, hey! Shut up."
He then immediately called for Josh, another prisoner, to come get the man right away, telling him to "get him outta here."
