Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel's relationship seems to be in troubled waters after the singer was seen holding hands and cozying up to his 'Palmer' co-star Alisha Wainwright at a New Orleans bar on November 21. The gesture didn't go down too well with his fans and rumors of infidelity soon started circulating on social media.

The buzz only grew stronger after the photos went viral. His wife wasn't particularly pleased about the fiasco and a source was quoted by Us Weekly saying how “Jessica was very upset and embarrassed by Justin’s behavior” and that, she “thought it was completely inappropriate".

Finally, Justin took to his Instagram account to set the record straight and publicly apologized to his wife, who he has been married to for seven years. While his stance may be lauded, it seems the 'Sexy Back' singer has a lot at stake. According to a 2013 New York Daily News report, Jessica Biel reportedly has an agreement with Timberlake that says he would have to give her $500,000 if he cheats.

Such pre-nuptial agreements are quite a hot trend among celebrities and while the details of what constitutes infidelity or a cheating scandal are not clear don't you think it is a pretty strong reason to come clean about the rumors?

On December 5, Timberlake posted on Instagram, “I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family, I feel it is important to address recent rumors that are hurting the people I love.”

He continued, “A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgment — but let me be clear — nothing happened between me and my costar. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better.”

“This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that. I am incredibly proud to be working on 'Palmer'. Looking forward to continuing to make this movie and excited for people to see it,” he said.

Not much can be said about the pair's future but a source dismissed cheating rumors and told People that the two co-stars were "innocent". The source said, “It’s a balcony with a group of people and it was definitely nothing happening. He’s down there shooting [his film] Palmer, they’re starring in the movie together and they’re cool and everybody was just hanging out.”
