Newlyweds Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson's wedding didn't really go as they might have expected it to. The couple tied the knot on June 30 and, despite them claiming the day to have been perfect, it turns out the wedding reception was a total disaster. The 'Counting On' stars desperately tied to hold things together as their perfect day fell apart in front of their eyes.

According to RadarOnline, an insider revealed that both the reception and the wedding appeared to be a complete disaster. The source said, "The whole event was chaotic... Everything was messed up." The source added that it was chiefly the organizer's fault. "The organizer messed everything up for the volunteers and the venue." The wedding was reportedly planned for free by a friend of the family who appeared on '19 Kids' and 'Counting'. Apparently, the chaos began as soon as the couple arrived at the venue. "The wedding was still being set up the afternoon of," the source said.

The couple tied the knot at John Brown University Cathedral of the Ozarks in Siloam Springs, Arkansas on June 30. The ceremony was conducted by Lauren's father Dwain Swanson, as Lauren was accompanied by eight bridesmaids who were adorned in handmade blush dresses. The couple's engagement took in March, almost six weeks after they announced their courtship.

Despite facing a lot of backlash for their hasty engagement, the couple got the stamp of approval from Jim Bob and Michelle. In Touch Weekly quoted the Duggar family saying, "We are so excited to announce that Josiah and Lauren are officially engaged! We have prayed for many years that the Lord would bring the right spouses to each of our children. We have known Lauren and her family for a very long time and have seen how she has grown in her knowledge and understanding of the Lord. She is a wonderful, caring, compassionate young lady, full of zeal for Christ."

However, following the marriage, the family seemed pretty satisfied with how things had turned out. "What a joy it is to be husband and wife!" the couple said following their nuptials. "Our wedding day was absolutely perfect!" Josiah said. "What was even more perfect was to see my beautiful bride walking down the aisle... We are so thankful the Lord has brought us to this place and we can’t wait to begin our journey as husband and wife! We are overjoyed to begin this new phase of our lives together," Josiah told PEOPLE.

"Through the years our families’ friendship has allowed us to get to know one another as friends. I can definitely say I have found a great friend... even better than I could have hoped for or imagined."

The couple also said, "Most importantly, both of our families emphasized how important it is to keep Christ central in our marriage... Marriage is a gift from God and putting Christ first is the most important thing we can do to ensure a marriage that is strong, healthy and able to withstand all the ups and downs of life."
