BERWYN, ILLINOIS: An Illinois family is trying every means to find their elderly member, who has not been seen for the past few days. As per reports, Jose Guadalupe Arevalo, who has Alzheimer's disease, has been missing since Thursday, December 1. It has been said that the 83-year-old was last seen in Berwyn at around 1:45 noon of that day.

Arevalo was reportedly donning a green flannel shirt, blue jeans and a hat as he left his Berwyn home near 19th Street and Scoville Avenue. His daughter Esnelia Vargas told ABC7 Chicago, “I don't know where he's at. We just need everybody's help. He needs his medication. He's been without it for 72 hours, he hasn't eaten. He didn't have a coat on.”

Vargas shared, “His cognition has declined so much in the past year, he wanted to go home. And he said I have to go home and you would ask him, where is home? And he couldn't tell you,” as she went on to add, “Everybody knows him. I'm just afraid he's somewhere laying on the ground. We just want him back home safe.”

Gabriela Zaragoza, the granddaughter of Arevalo, also asked for help as she reportedly noted, “We've been passing flyers, driving block by block, visiting hospitals, shelters, talking with the homeless people, parks.” Another daughter of the missing man, Alejandra Arevalo, reportedly said Fox 32 Chicago, “We've had people reach out and say, ‘well we might have seen him, we’ve gone out and looked.' Unfortunately they've all been — hasn't been him — but everybody's vigilant, everybody's out there looking.”

Besides, the local police department has shared about Arevalo’s case on their Facebook page. According to their statement, the man is “5 FEET 7 INCHES” tall and his weight is “150 POUNDS”. The release also stated that he only speaks Spanish, before it added, “LAST SEEN AT 1:45PM ON 12/01/2022  NEAR 19TH STREET/SCOVILLE (BERWYN, IL) WEARING A GREEN COLORED FLANNEL SHIRT, CUBS BASEBALL HAT, EDDIE BAUER BRAND BLUE JEANS WITH FLANNEL LINING, AND BLACK SHOES. (ACTUAL HAT, SHIRT, AND SHOES IN PHOTOS) “IF YOU HAVE SEEN THIS PERSON OR HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PLEASE CALL THE BERWYN POLICE DEPARTMENT: 708-795-5600.”

Commander Michael Fellows of the Berwyn Police Department noted, “We're asking the community to be vigilant out there, um, obviously he could have changed clothes, someone could have given him something, um changed his hat, from the Cubs hat he was last seen wearing.”

Meanwhile, the police's Facebook post has attracted a few comments with a user saying, “Heavenly father please send an Angel to help your loving child get home safe and soon Amen🙏.” Another one wrote, “Hey, good evening! Let's bring this guy home!” Also, when a person claimed, “He was right on the side of my house on December 1st at 3:03pm,”  Berwyn Police Department advised them to chat on a private message.
