Johnny Depp's dancer girlfriend splits with actor and flies back home to Russia after lifestyle 'scare' overwhelms her
Johnny Depp's girlfriend, Polina Glen, 24, who is a Russian dancer, has broken up with the 56-year-old actor and flown back to her hometown because she was reportedly overwhelmed by the attention that her relationship was getting in the United States.
According to Daily Mail, Polina told her friends that it was "scary" how her affair with the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star was thrust into the limelight, especially in the wake of him being locked in legal disputes with his ex-wife, Amber Heard, over allegations of abuse in the marriage, ever since he finalized his divorce in January 2017.
The news of their affair was first reported earlier this year with photos of a 17-year-old Polina dancing on a bartop in a St. Petersburg club splashed across US tabloids. Things got so serious between the two that there were rumors of the both of them planning to get married after she moved into his mansion in Hollywood.
However, things went awry for the couple as Hollywood sources said that the two no longer have plans to settle down together.
"Polina hated the attention the relationship was bringing her and found it scary. She’s now keeping her head down in Russia and told Johnny plans to get married were madness," a source was cited by the publication as saying.
Polina reportedly thought that the pace at which her relationship with Johnny was progressing, was too fast, as the actor kept pressurizing her to let him meet her father Gennady and her mother Irina, who is four years younger than him.
"Despite sneers that Polina was only with Johnny for his fame, she kept her head down while living with him, going to her dance choreography job and then back to his house," the insider said.
She has now returned to her home in Russia "for the foreseeable future," according to the source, as she could not take the scrutiny of her love life in the media anymore. "His level of celebrity and his ongoing battle with Amber grew too much for her. Johnny has been distracted by his feud with Amber and she didn’t think the time was right for them to commit to anything," the source said.
