John Travolta spends first Thanksgiving without late wife Kelly Preston, thanks fans for incredible support
Actor John Travolta took to Instagram on Thanksgiving to send a cheer to his fans for the support and love that they have shown him in a year filled with personal losses. He suffered a major loss when his wife Kelly Preston died after a two-year battle with breast cancer in July. Just few weeks later, Travolta suffered another loss when his nephew Sam Travolta died; the cause of his death is yet unknown. So Travolta marked Thanksgiving by telling his fans in a video post: "I just want to take this moment to thank each and every one of you for supporting me in such an incredible way this year. Happy Thanksgiving and always love."
The video that he posted was captioned, "Happy Thanksgiving everyone."
Recently, the actor posted a melting wish for his late wife on her birthday and said, "Happy Birthday hon! I found this photo of my mom and dad‘s wedding. It was nice to see ours alongside theirs. All my love, John."
This is Travolta's first Thanksgiving without his wife and fans have been wishing the actor well.
It was on July 13 that Travolta took to Instagram to announce his wife Kelly's death and shared, "It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many. My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side. Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. All my love, JT"
Travolta wed Preston in 1991, first at a ceremony officiated by a French Scientology minister and later at an official ceremony. The two went on to have three children, with their son Jett tragically passing away in 2009 at the age of 16 from a seizure, something he dealt with since the age of two owing to him suffering from Kawasaki disease.
Soon after Preston's death, Travolta and his daughter Ella celebrated his late wife by dancing to her favorite song and shared a video of the same as well. He captioned the video, "My daughter @ella.travolta and I dancing in memory of momma. One of Kelly’s favorite things, dancing with me."
Recently, Travolta spent time with his friends and family over lunch and also shared snapshots of the same on his handle. He was seen recently in an ad for Capital One, in which he was dressed as Santa Claus and channeling his character from Quentin Tarantino's 1994 film 'Pulp Fiction' - Vincent Vega.
