John Legend is one of the top R&B singers in the world with several awards and recognitions in his kitty. The versatile crooner is also known for his job on the singing reality show ‘The Voice’ as a judge and a coach. The show wrapped up its Season 19 in December 2020 with the 15-year-old Carter Rubin was declared as the winner from Gwen Stefani’s team.

The popular musical show is now coming back for Season 20 with Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and, of course, our very own John Legend as judges. Country singer Gwen Stefani won’t be coming back this time. Nick Jonas is making his comeback on the show, replacing Gwen on the big red chair. The new season is all set to premiere on March 1, 2021, on NBC.

John Legend has been super active in the game since 1998, making an impressive amount of dough from royalties, copyrights, record sales, touring, endorsements and appearances on TV shows and movies. The 42-year-old singer-songwriter’s net worth is close to $75 million, out of which $10 million comes from his wife Chrissy Teigen, as reported on Celebrity Net Worth. The multiple Grammy award-winner artist is best known for his songs ‘All of Me,’ ‘Love Me Now’,  ‘Wild’ and ‘Ordinary People’, among others.

Legend's debut album, ‘Get Lifted’, was released on Kanye West's GOOD Music label in December 2004 and debuted at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Interestingly, all his next albums did exceptionally well on the charts, establishing him as a promising singer and recording producer in the industry. This further allowed him to pocket some serious dough. In February 2006, Legend performed at the pre-game show at Super Bowl XL as well as at the NBA All-Star Game.

Pocketing millions from ‘The Voice’

John Legend was roped in as a judge on the renowned singing reality show in Season 16 and he has taken over the big red chair ever since. Season 20 will mark John Legend’s fifth time as a coach. He won his first season on the show with Maelyn Jarmon. For the unversed, Legend also appeared as Team Adam Levine’s battle advisor in Season 12.  The singer’s job on the show allows him to increase his net worth easily. According to the website Talent Recap, the singer rakes-in $14 million per cycle, which is somewhere close to his fellow judge Kelly Clarkson.

Legend’s unending love for uber-luxurious pads

With such an impressive salary from music and TV shows, Legend, of course, loves to show-off a bit. He along with his wife bought a modern contemporary house in April 2020 in West Hollywood, California which according to the website Celebrity Net Worth is worth $5.1 million. The same publication reported that the couple also own a Beverly Hills home, for which they shelled out a cool $14.1 million in 2016. They currently reside here. Apart from these, two penthouses in New York City worth $9 million and $8 million are also in the name of the talented singer and his model wife. It is also believed that John and Chrissy paid $17.5 million for a new mansion in Beverly Hills in September 2020.
