On Friday, John Krasinski shared a virtual invite for prom on his Instagram account with the hashtag #SGNprom. This was a way to ensure that the Class[es] of 2020, which would have otherwise missed what is considered one the most important events in their lives, their prom, had a chance to experience this milestone moment. He hosted the prom with help from Jonas Brothers and Billie Eilish and the invite was for a YouTube live which fans have by now watched. It is this video that has fans on Twitter swooning over the actor and many students breathing a sigh of relief.

In the video, before the Jonas Brothers performed, Nick Jonas said, "Since we never went to prom, and because we want to share this experience with everyone staying safe at home, we could potentially do one of our songs if that's alright, try to turn this party up a notch."

The prom also saw Eilish perform 'Bad Guy' with her brother Finneas O Connell. After her performance, Krasinski told the singer, "Billie, you just hit your all-time career-low, being on this show."

Fans who watched the prom also included older men and women who were also nostalgic about their own prom and this resulted in many of them sharing prom pictures on social media.

One fan wrote, "Thank you @somegoodnews and @johnkrasinski for making my daughter’s night! #SGNProm was awesome #betterthanmyprom." Another fan wrote, "@somegoodnews @johnlegend my 13-year-old isn’t old enough for prom, but she’s missing her friends and she couldn’t have been happier watching #SGNProm when seeing @nickjonas and @joejonas and @kevinjonas appear."

One of the fans, in a very tongue-in-cheek post, wrote, "Gosh, all it took was a global pandemic for me to learn that John Krasinski is an even better person than he is a writer, director, and actor. #SGNProm lifted the spirits of my high school Senior on the night where her school’s prom was supposed to occur."

One of the fans shared her prom picture and wrote, "I love seeing all the #Prom2020 pics from @johnkrasinski's #SGNProm. It made me nostalgic, so here's my Prom pic... I wanted more blood on my dress, but what's a girl to do. #Prom."

Krasinski hosted the live stream on his official YouTube channel, Some Good News. The live stream saw many of his celebrities friends joining the live stream for a quick hello and this included Chance the Rapper and his 'The Office' costar Rainn Wilson.
