#JohnKrasinskiIsOverParty trends, fans say he's ‘so sweet’ and can't cancel him without a valid reason
The cancel culture is going strong on the Internet and recently, John Krasinski's name popped up with the hashtag #JohnKrasinskiIsOverParty. Married to Emily Blunt, the actor is known for his roles in 'The Office', 'Jack Ryan' and 'A Quiet Place' among other films. More recently, he started a web series known as 'Some Good News' on YouTube amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Seeing his name on top of Twitter trends left many fans shocked and they couldn't help but wonder if KPop stans had started it.
The truth was quite different. Apparently, it began when a girl tweeted a thread to cancel Krasinski for being "a cop". "Ok so I guess friends and family “hate” my Twitter effort to cancel John Krasinski for being “a cop” - it “gives them concern” that I am considering all angles of whether or not John Krasinski is a copy. They say I am “medically” “diagnosed”with PTSD and these tweets are (contin)," the tweet read.
It further said, "One of many “paranoid” “delusions” and that if I take a “chill” “pill” literally, my community will come together in time to cancel John Krasinski if that is in fact, necessary, which we will find out together. With that, I say: Au revoir." She then posted, "Know that if you don’t hear from me, while I am out of the public eye of my meager following, my heart is still focused on abolishing police, tearing down the whole system, and of course, as always, Canceling John Krasinski."
Pinning it again on her Twitter account, she posted, "I WILL BE BACK! A #thread on canceling John Krasinski and mental health." Her tweet drew quite a bit of backlash. "Why are you trying to cancel THIS man?! He’s so sweet and cute," one said and another posted, "Can we get a good explanation as to why he would be canceled?? I’m not sure what he’s done."
In no time, the hashtag started trending, but fans blatantly refused to cancel him. "Not canceling until someone comes with a VALID reason," one tweet read and another said, "#JohnKrasinskiIsOverParty I went through the threads of tweets to try and find out what he did. I Googled to see if there was some dirt on him. Turns out some rando woman has a major hate on for this guy and has decided to use her "meager following" her words not mine."
One came in the actor's defense and posted, "Who the F**K is trying to cancel John?? He’s like the sweetest human being who cares about everyone? He literally hosted an online prom for the class of 2020. He’s done A LOT not only for 2020 seniors but wants to make people happy. Don’t. Cancel. Him. #JohnKrasinskiIsOverParty." Another fan clarified: "For anyone needing to know why #JohnKrasinskiIsOverParty is trending, it's because someone wanted clout and made a post about John Krasinski simply because they didn't like him. y'all can continue to love and cherish him, he didn't do anything. 2020's not taking him from us."
