Oh dear, did you just see John Krasinski and Pete Davidson locking lips on ‘Saturday Night Live’? Yes, it's true... The actor and comedian shared a steamy kiss on the NBC sketch show and stumped viewers. If you're wondering what led to that moment... here's what really happened. 

During his opening monologue, several cast members confused John with his ‘The Office’ character Jim. When the actor was unable to clarify he was John, Pete Davidson hopped in to end the confusion. He said that since people have been binge-watching the show behind closed doors during the lockdown, their minds only have John stored in Jim's character.

Many wanted to know where Pam — his love interest on the show played by Jenna Fischer — was and why wasn't he with her. When the questions just didn't end, Pete stood next to the host, Kenan Thompson. Portraying an audience member, he asked: “Is that Pam?”

Confused, John retorted: “No, this is Pete Davidson.” But the audience wouldn't stop. So, Pete told him: “I think they really need for someone to be Pam.” He continued, “I think we gotta give them what they want Jim. Jim, you gotta kiss Pam.”

Soon, chants of “Kiss Pam! Kiss Pam! Kiss Pam!” grew louder. In a hilarious twist, Pete asked John to end the confusion and kiss Pam. John then took Pete's face in his hands and planted a big smooch on the lips.

In no time, Twitter was buzzing with reactions about their smooch.

“I didn't think 2021 could get worse but then John Krasinski and Pete Davidson kissed on #SNL,” one fan said and another posted, “I turned on SNL to hopefully see some MGK/Pete Davidson action and instead got to see Pete Davidson kissing John Krasinski. This is fabulous.” A third chimed in, “Me explaining to my future children how covid lockdowns eventually lead to John Krasinski and Pete Davidson kissing on #SNL.”

Sharing the kissing clip, one viewer wrote, “Jim and Pam reunion on #SNL (with Pete Davidson recast as Pam, and frankly, it's not the weirdest thing to happen lately in the world),” adding, “Also, Pete Davidson and John Krasinski starring in every sketch together tonight, so they really are the new Jim and Pam.”

The fan added, “I NEVER THOUGHT ID EVER SEE JOHN KRASINSKI AND PETE DAVIDSON KISS ON LIVE TELEVISION,” and also said, “A Pete Davidson and John Krasinski kiss was not what I asked for but exactly what I needed.”

John starred in ‘The Office’ from 2005 to 2013 for all nine seasons. In real life, the 41-year-old is married to actress Emily Blunt since 2010, and the couple live with their two daughters — Hazel, 6, and Violet, 4.

Meanwhile, Pete Davidson's dating history includes Ariana Grande and Kate Beckinsale. He was rumored to be dating Kaia Gerber but later confessed that he realized she was “too young for him”.
