AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan is among those who believe Alexander Volkanovski has accomplished enough to win his bout against one of the most powerful competitors in the sport at UFC 284 in February.

This, despite the fact that Volkanovski recently lost against Islam Makhachev.

UFC color commentator was so impressed with Volkanovski's performance that he continues to rank the UFC featherweight champion as the "No. 1 pound-for-pound" MMA competitor.

Alexander Volkanovski's performance impressed Joe Rogan

At UFC 284 in 2023, Volkanovski 'The Great' Volkanovski (26-2 MMA) lost to Islam Makhachev (24-1 MMA) by unanimous decision. Many spectators and competitors agreed that Volkanovski deserved to win that fight on February 11th.

According to Rogan, Volkanovski's effort at UFC 284 was sufficient to secure the victory. In his podcast interview, Rogan stated that Volkanovski is the top P4P in the UFC, MMAFighting reported.

Rogan said, “He’s No. 1 pound-for-pound. They have him as not pound-for-pound (No. 1 in the UFC) because he lost that fight (to Islam Makhachev). I think you could make a real argument that he won that fight. I think he won the fight. In my mind, he won the fight.”

He went on to say, “He did more damage. I think he imposed his skill set. It’s also insanely impressive that he goes up from (featherweight) to fight a massive (lightweight). That guy is as big at (155 pounds) as anybody is, and at the end of the fight, (Volkanovski) is on top beating him up.”

“He drops him, gets on top of him and had massive moments throughout the fight. You kind of see vulnerability in Islam after that fight with Volkanovski. First of all, you see how good Volkanovski really is. F**king animal. (But) it sort of gives an air of vulnerability with Islam where before people were like, ‘This guy’s unstoppable,’” the podcaster concluded.

Joe Rogan refers to Jake Paul as 'The Man'

Joe Rogan, a podcast host, also praised Jake Paul on 'The Joe Rogan Experience', referring to him as "The Man."

Despite initial reservations, Rogan has consistently praised Paul's skills and defended him against claims of 'fake' fights.

Sean O'Malley, the UFC bantamweight champion, and Rogan talked about how boxers no longer market themselves and instead hand over control of their brand to third parties.

Rogan observed that boxers do not take full advantage of their financial potential like Jake does, who promotes every one of his fights.

Jake Paul takes the ring for his cruiserweight bout against Anderson Silva of Brazil at Desert Diamond Arena on October 29, 2022 in Glendale, Arizona.

“Jake Paul is the f**king man. Like, what he’s done is pretty amazing,” Rogan said just before discussing Logan Paul and Dillon's next battle.

A little while later, he turned to Jake and remarked that Jake had made more money in his whole UFC career than Ben Askren had from his fight.

Nowadays, Jake promotes more than just his own fights. His Most Valuable Promotions brand has an expanding fighter roster.

It is clear that Jake is here to stay because he has declared that he will continue promoting boxers once his own in-ring career has ended.
