Joe Rogan on Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard verdict: 'It was good for all who believe in the truth'
The verdict in the Johnny Depp v Amber Heard defamation trial was announced on June 1, with the jury ruling in Depp's favor. Ever since the result, everyone has had an opinion on it, from netizens to public figures. Podcaster Joe Rogan thinks the verdict is good for people who support the truth.
"I think it was probably good for all people who believe in the truth. And the problem is there's like this boys vs girls narrative that I think we all get into on these things. And there's a lot of guys who wanted a guy to win one of these things. But it's just not good to not be honest. And if you're doing that, and you're doing it to try to hurt someone," said Rogan.

Joe Rogan trashes Amber Heard's legal team but hopes Johnny Depp and Camille Vasquez hook up!
"Like if you're purposely changing reality, you're lying about what happened just to try to hurt somebody, you're doing a f**ked up thing. Because you're pretending you're a victim and so it's not as simple as you're just lying. You're turning someone into a criminal, you're pretending you're a victim. And if it's all not true, it's a really bad thing. It's just bad for all of us," said the 54-year-old on 'Flagrant' with Andrew Schulz.
"Someone said that the verdict is bad for women, I'm like that's crazy. It's just not good to do s**t like that. You know you watch the trial and you form your own opinions. Unless you're there, unless there's direct evidence and other than the evidence of like the conversations that they had that they were both recording, which is wild," he further added.

Rogan then joked about both Depp and Heard recording each other's conversations, which were presented as evidence in court. "So they both knew, so they decided to have like a performance conversation. Because if you're recording it, you're recording it knowing someone else is going to listen. So that's not a real conversation, you're putting on a show. It's like 'Keeping up with the Kardashians' know the camera's there, they know the cameras are there.
Previously, Rogan joked with computer scientist Lex Fridman on his podcast, 'The Joe Rogan Experience' that Heard's legal team appeared to be assembled from Craigslist. "That's probably all she could afford. Her f**king lawyers are terrible. She probably found 'em on Craigslist. They don't make any sense. Their questions are terrible. They're so ill-prepared. But also, what are they dealing with? Like, what are they dealing with? They're dealing with someone who's a clear sociopath, a clear liar."
He mocked Heard's expert witness, psychiatrist Dr David Spiegel, and said, "I hope that Johnny Depp plays him in a movie. Somebody wrote in the comments that he feels like β a patient who escaped from an insane asylum and is pretending to be a psychiatrist." Talking about Heard, he added, "The way she like turns like, she answers the question and looks to the jury and answers them. Like she's doing a little show for them. Like β she's nuts!"
