Joe Jonas hits back at ex Sophie Turner claiming she was 'not blindsided' by divorce filing
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Joe Jonas has responded to ex-wife Sophie Turner's claim that she found out about the divorce filing "through the media."
As per the singer's reps, “After multiple conversations with Sophie, Joe initiated divorce proceedings in Florida, as it is the appropriate jurisdiction for the case."
He said on Thursday, September 21, "Sophie was aware that Joe was going to file for divorce."

The 'Game of Thrones' star has sued Joe and requested in her filing the "immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained" in the US.
The court documents also revealed that the "breakdown" of her four-year marriage "happened very suddenly."
"Joe and Sophie had a cordial meeting this past Sunday in New York, when Sophie came to New York to be with the kids. They have been with her since that meeting," Jonas' rep to People.
He added, “Joe’s impression of the meeting was that they had reached an understanding that they would work together towards an amicable co-parenting setup."

Sophie and Joe announced their separation over joint statement online
Earlier, the two announced their split over a joint statement. Sophie and Joe posted on Instagram, "Statement from the two of us: 'After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage."
It further read, “There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.'"
The 'Another Me' star also claimed that she and Jonas had agreed in December 2022 that they would "move to England" and is now retracting, as per the filing in a Manhattan court.
Meanwhile, in his divorce filing, Joe asserted that he had been their daughters' primary caregivers (Willa, 3, and her one-year-old sibling). He also requested 'shared responsibility' for their daughters.

The ex-couple connected over social media and then went on to tie the knot. "We had a lot of mutual friends, and they'd been trying to introduce us for a long time," Turner told Harper’s Bazaar earlier in 2019.
"We were following each other on Instagram and he direct-messaged me one fine day, out of the blue," they said.
As per several close sources, the two started dating a few months later, “[They are] willing to settle down for her.”
Sophie was partying days after the filing of divorce, "[She] likes to party and he likes to stay at home. They have very different lifestyles," as per an insider.
