Donald Trump's 2024 MAGA campaign: All we know about event POTUS plans to hold during Joe Biden's inauguration
Donald Trump is plotting various ways to boycott Joe Biden's administration and steal his thunder when he is sworn in as the 46th president of the United States in January, sources close to Trump said
According to The Daily Beast, Trump is said to be considering holding an event during the president-elect's inauguration to announce his 2024 run and has boasted that he thinks the networks will continue to cover him after he leaves the White House because Joe Biden is 'boring'. The president continues to refuse to publicly concede the election to Biden but finally showed signs of caving this week when he admitted he would leave the White House in January if the electoral college approves his rival's votes.
Two of Trump’s sources said Trump is considering timing a kick-off event for his 2024 White House campaign to clash with inauguration week or with the ceremony itself. This would be a marked departure from protocol with the outgoing president traditionally attending the incoming president's inauguration as part of a peaceful transition of power, a grace then-President Barack Obama and Vice President Biden both afforded Trump back in 2017. His plot to draw the attention away from inauguration day on January 20 would be a dramatic disregard for the process of a peaceful transition of power from one president to the next.
Author of the book ‘Trumpocalypse: Restoring American Democracy’, David Frum tweeted, “Anyway whether Trump runs again or not in 2024, what you can count on in 2021-2022 is Trump sabotaging and cannibalizing any Republican aspirant who steps forward to try to replace him.” He also added that the number of voters for the Biden coalition is huge and if Donald Trump is the representative of Republicans for the next four years, it would be a gift to Biden. “The Biden coalition stretches from ex-Romney voters to ex-Sanders voters. It's huge, therefore potentially unstable. One bond can hold the mass together: Donald Trump insisting that everybody keep thinking about HIM for the next 4 years. What a gift to Biden!”
The author also shared a report of Bloomberg where National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien assures his as well as Mike Pence and Mike Pompeo’s 100% support if Trump runs for President in 2024 and wrote, “If this story is true, it's funny to imagine the thoughts and feelings of Pence and Pompeo as O'Brien pledged their support for a Trump 2024 run. "Oh sure, how great, with you every step of the way as you crush all my plans..."

Another user wrote that Trump’s legal issues would keep him occupied, “Trump’s shenanigans will help keep the anti-Trump, pro-democracy coalition together, though Trump’s legal issues will be a major distraction for him. Whatever happens, he’ll want to settle out of court so he can claim he wasn’t guilty of anything.” Worried about how media’s contribution will play out in the four years to follow the next Presidential election, another tweet read, “I agree that the media COULD put an end to the Trump madness by not covering him. However, I think that the media do NOT misunderstand their audience, which is the chaos-addicted public. Unfortunately, drama sells. It's human nature.”
