Joan Collins, 89, is 'aging in reverse' as she flaunts her glamorous persona in new photo
LONDON, ENGLAND: Dame Joan Collins has shared a photo of herself on social media and fans are going gaga over her youthful looks at 89. The Golden Globe-winning English actress shared snaps among wisteria trees where she is oozing out the old-world charm in an ‘80s YSL jacket. One of the last surviving divas from the Golden Age of Hollywood, Collins is married to Percy Gibson, who is 31 years younger than her.
The ‘Land of the Pharaohs’ star has shared a snap of herself donning a timeless Yves Saint Laurent jacket from the 1980s along with a pair of black pants and a black and white striped top. She accessorized with black knee-high boots and a pair of large sunglasses.

In the second photo of the series, the ‘Prime Time’ author shared a photo of her husband who apparently found the wisteria tree the couple had been searching for. ‘The Time of Their Lives’ star captioned the photos as, “Looking for the #wisteria which only blooms in the #spring, wearing @ysl jacket from the #80s #shoppingmycloset …wait! Looks like #ahubby found it!.”
‘I hated everything that was happening’
One of the most glamorous women from the Golden Age of Hollywood, Dame Collins, however, did not always embrace her femininity. In a September 2022 interview with Saga Magazine, the ‘The Royals’ actress said she “hated” it when she reached puberty. “I remember going through puberty at 14 and hating the way my body was changing,” said the great philanthropist before adding, “I hated everything that was happening. So I rebelled and wore boys' clothes.” She revealed about changing her appearance, “I wore corduroys and scraped my hair back. I even went to football matches with my father.”
However, this phase did not stay for long. When she was about 15, she luckily changed her mind about her desire to be a boy. “I think when I went on holiday to France when I was around 15,” revealed the Primetime Emmy winner and explained it was when the boys “discovered” her, she changed her mind.
The beloved actress maintains a timeless wardrobe even now and has donated several designer pieces to the Shooting Star Chase charity shop. She often shares throwback pictures of herself donning her favorite attires reminiscing about the past.
