South Korean actor Jo Jung-suk and singer Gummy have welcomed their first child, a baby girl on Thursday, August 6. As per a statement released by Jo Jung-suk’s agency, the "mother and baby are both healthy." It further adds, "Gummy gave birth to their first daughter at a hospital in Seoul on the morning of August 6. The couple and their family are overjoyed at the birth of their first child. We express sincere gratitude for the support and congratulatory messages from many people, and we ask for blessings towards their family that has welcomed a new family member."

Jung-suk and Gummy have been giving some serious couple goals to all their fans. The couple has been nurturing love and trust with their common interest in music. Jun-suk rose to fame through his 2012 film, 'Architecture 101'. Apart from that, he has appeared in several TV shows and movies, including 'The King 2 Hearts' (2012), 'You're the Best, Lee Soon-shin' (2013), 'The Face Reader' (2013), 'My Love, My Bride' (2014), 'Oh My Ghost' (2015), 'My Annoying Brother' (2016), 'Don't Dare to Dream' (2016), and 'Hospital Playlist' (2020). He has participated actively in musicals too. His musical 'Blood Brothers' garnered acclaim and all of its shows were sold out.

Park Ji-yeon, better known by her stage name Gummy, has been in the industry for more than 10 years. The Korean diva has delivered many hit songs such as 'You're Calling Me' and 'Shinjiteru'.

How did they meet?

The duo has been together since 2013, through a common friend, singer Youngji. The two then officially confirmed their dating status in February 2015. They finally tied the knot in October 2018. 

When did they get married?

They confirmed the marriage news on his fancafe in 2018, as Jung-suk wrote, "It feels like a new beginning for a new life, a turn in the road that will help me grow as an actor, and the thought of now walking down a path that I’d been walking down by myself with someone else excites me. And, I’m a little nervous. We haven’t decided on any specific details which is why I haven’t been able to tell you, but I am planning to get married this year." Revealing his decision, he added, "We decided to get married because we are both a big source of energy for each other, and she is someone who will encourage and support me to become a better person in the future. I’m sure you were surprised by the sudden news, but I hope you will cheer us on to live a good life and celebrate this moment with us."

And later, Gummy also posted, "I will be getting married. He’s someone who has given me lots of comfort and strength for a long time, and someone who has taught me a lot. I am very grateful to have met such a great person. And, I believe it was all thanks to the sincere support you’ve given us. I will go through a big change in my life, but I will do my best to adapt to the new situation and raise a good family." The couple got married on 8 October 2018.

When was Gummy's pregnancy announced?

The couple then shared the news of welcoming a new member to their family, On January 6. A source from Gummy’s agency had confirmed, “It’s true that Gummy is pregnant.” They went on to explain, “Jo Jung Suk and Gummy are very happy about their first pregnancy. Gummy is currently seven weeks along and as she is still in the early stages of her pregnancy, she will be minimizing her activities and focusing on her pregnancy for the time being. We ask for your warm support and blessings.”

When did they welcome their baby girl?

On Thursday, August 6, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl.
