While this is a feel-good story, some users pointed out that the woman who reached out to JJ Watt, Jennifer Simpson, has made these kinds of pleas before as well. One user who decided to do their research pointed out a tweet, in which Simpson had tweeted something similar in 2018 saying, "I hate to do this, but I am selling my @JJWattjersey. I don’t have much, but this is the most valuable thing I have. My moms cousin died unexpectedly Wednesday morning and we are trying to pay for his funeral. It is a women’s XL I’m good condition. Please let me know. @JJWatt" While this remains a claim, and unclear if she's a con, Watt has earned his share of good wishes regardless.
