LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Mariah Carey, often hailed as the Queen of Christmas, is not just known for her legendary holiday tunes but also for her penchant for pranks.

In a recent episode of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' on November 2, Carey continued a tradition that involves giving Jimmy Kimmel an unexpected midnight scare.

Unexpected midnight wake-up call for Jimmy Kimmel

Carey, accompanied by her festive entourage, which included helpers dressed as elves and Santa, executed a late-night break-in at Kimmel's residence.

They gently woke the late-night host from a deep slumber, to which a confused Kimmel groggily inquired about the time.

Carey whispered sweetly, "Jimmy, I didn't mean to wake you up, but it's time!"

As Carey's holiday classic, 'All I Want For Christmas Is You', filled the room, tinsel-clad intruders showered fake snow and rang sleigh bells while lights flashed.

Kimmel's wife, Molly, joyfully joined in the mischief, dancing in delight at her husband's annoyance.

The humorous prank culminated with a barefoot Kimmel, donning Molly's robe and still wearing his mouth guard, receiving a piece of Carey's new 'It's Time!' Christmas merchandise before heading off to bed once again.

Mariah Carey shares candid childhood stories about prank calls

During the show, Carey shared amusing childhood stories about her love for prank calls, including a time when the police became involved after she relentlessly called a childhood bully.

The conversation naturally delved into the enduring popularity of 'All I Want For Christmas Is You', which Carey considers "bananas" since it was the first Christmas song she ever composed.

"I just wanted it to sound like a classic because that's the kind of Christmas song I want… I just wanted it to be timeless," Carey expressed.

The singer also revealed that her 12-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, will join her on her upcoming '13-date Merry Christmas One and All tour', starting from November 15 in Highland, CA.

Regarding the timing of Christmas festivities, Carey playfully pushed back on Kimmel's inquiries about the rush to embrace the holiday season before Thanksgiving.

She acknowledged the importance of Thanksgiving but humorously suggested that it has become a "speed bump" on the way to Santa season.

Carey's humorous "it's time" videos in recent years have further contributed to her association with early Christmas celebrations.

Mariah and Britney's memoir mentions the Holiday season's timing

The conversation also touched on Carey's cameo in Britney Spears' bestselling memoir, 'The Woman in Me', with Carey expressing her appreciation for Britney's kind words.

“Of course, I had a ring light [in 2003],” Mariah said. She added, “By the way, that was super sweet what Britney said about me.”

A particularly sweet moment was when Kimmel read an excerpt from the book in which Britney recalled a backstage encounter with Carey, describing her as emitting a "beautiful, otherworldly light."

"It's the season, darling," Carey assured Kimmel,  adding, “We have to have Thanksgiving. It’s the holidays, is it not?”

“But I had to just go with the flow because everybody was rushing the holiday season and they started playing my song, so I kept being like, ‘not yet, don’t play it yet, why are we playing Christmas songs?'” she added.

Carey's humorous "it's time" videos, which were initially a joke, have become a delightful tradition over the past two seasons.

Carey concluded her appearance by reciprocating Britney's affectionate sentiments, declaring her love for the pop icon.

With her signature charm and humor, Carey left an indelible mark on the show and in the hearts of her fans, reminding everyone that the Christmas season is, indeed, a special time to celebrate.

Fans enjoy Molly Kimmel's hilarious contribution to 'midnight prank'

Fans of Carey and Kimmel's show couldn't get enough of the late-night fright and the hilarious twist that his wife, Molly, added to the prank by obviously being in on it.

One fan wrote, "I find amusing Molly is cheering through the whole ordeal."

"Gotta acknowledge Molly's involvement. Every time he's been hijacked, it was always Molly who let them in. You go girl," replied another.

Another replied, "Jimmy's wife Molly is the best!! How she gets all these Goddess singers to perform and wake him up in the middle of the night is just unbelievable. Britney, Rihanna, Miley, Dua, and now Mariah. Great club!"

"Molly was so adorable dancing!" one commented.

"Gotta love Molly for this. You know she’s behind every single prank they’ve done to Jimmy," replied one.
