Jack of all trades
Simpson's outing comes after her new Jessica Simpson Collection handbags debuted online last week. She posted a photo on Instagram announcing the same. The photo was captioned, "Ya can’t leave home without a handbag, so I say we might as well adore our shoulder statements! Our exclusive handbag launch is now live oncJessicaSimpson.com!"
She also tweeted a photo of herself wearing a floral yellow dress with her 63-year-old mother, Tina Ann Drew, who assists her with her apparel and accessories businesses. In the photo, Tina looked like she was aging backwards and could easily pass for the actress' sister.
The mother-of-three whipped her fans into a frenzy after appearing in a risque neon green two-piece from Kim Kardashian's SKIMS swimsuit collection.
She graced the cover of Entrepreneur Magazine in March 2022 in a low-cut black suit. The actress posted the cover on Instagram, captioning it, "Let them underestimate you! Quite possibly my most meaningful cover headline to date. Thank you @entrepreneur @francesdodds [the deputy editor of the magazine] for giving me a platform to share my Jessica Simpson Style story and seeing me for who I am."
Reclaiming control of Jessica Simpson Collection
Simpson had stated that she was considering borrowing money on her home to reclaim ownership of her brand. When Sequential Brands Group Inc. bought a majority share in the Jessica Simpson Collection in 2015, Simpson and Tina were left with a minority investment of 37.5%. However, four years later, the star wanted the brand back. Simpson reportedly made the decision while in a hospital with bronchitis when she was 34 weeks pregnant with Birdie, who is two now.
Simpson and Tina approached Threadstone Capital LLC in January 2021 to arrange for money to get back her brand. In October 2021, they reclaimed control of the company. They reportedly intend to keep all 20 of their licensees in over 30 categories while also releasing new products. They are also considering the formation of their own licensing company.
