Jesse James' horror marriage to Sandra Bullock should have set off alarm bells for Alexis DeJoria
If you woke up with a shock to the news that Jesse James slept with at least 20 women behind the back of his drag racer wife Alexis DeJoria, it's time to simmer down.
The fact that the 50-year-old left his seven-year marriage in shambles while begging women for sex on Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook, as well as messaging app Voxer doesn't come as a surprise. According to the Daily Mail, the West Coast Choppers founder "would sneak his mistresses into the marital home in Austin, Texas, for sex while his wife was away on race meets or at family functions." The report also read, "Other women would fly into Austin and hook up with Jesse in hotel rooms in the city."
If that wasn't enough, the reality star would often turn aggressive, was 'mentally and emotionally abusive' and turned their marriage 'toxic', a close friend of Alexis told the Daily Mail. The friend also added James' emotional statement after split "infuriated" his estranged wife.
"It really upset Alexis that Jesse would put this bulls**t statement out claiming they split because they were heading in different directions, the friend said, adding, "He said they had seven amazing years, yet he cheated on her for most of that time and was extremely emotionally abusive. He's right, the distance between them was insurmountable - but only because he'd been sleeping with other women behind her back and would never admit he had a problem."
However, Alexis should have taken hints earlier on, especially after looking at his past. This was not his first marriage as he has three children: a daughter and a son with his first wife, Karla James (1991-2002); and a daughter with his second wife, stripper and producer Janine Lindemulder (2002-2004).
If that was not all, James got hitched the third time with actress Sandra Bullock on July 16, 2005. Many would think third time's a charm, but not for James. The two met on the set of 'Monster Garage' when she arranged for her 10-year-old godson to meet him. Five years down the line, the couple separated after an ugly scandal when several women claimed they had an affair with James during his marriage.
During the promotions of 'The Blind Side', the actress canceled all appearances and on March 18, 2010, James issued a public apology to Bullock. "There is only one person to blame for this whole situation, and that is me," he said at the time and hopes that his wife and children one day "find it in their hearts to forgive" him for their current "pain and embarrassment." What's more, a week later, he checked into a rehab facility to "deal with personal issues" and "save his marriage" to Bullock.
But Bullock took strong action against him and filed for divorce. She even dismissed him from their plans to adopt a baby boy in New Orleans and continued the adoption as a single parent. After all the chaos and controversy, it was quite a shock when James managed to walk the aisle once again, this time with drag racer Alexis, who competes in the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Funny Car category.
Didn't Alexis take all the hints from James' previous marriages, especially Bullock? And if she didn't, wasn't it a case of blind faith leading to doom? It's sad that men manage to manipulate women using their same set of actions, and they fall into their trap. But, it's time for it to stop, don't you think?
