Jeremy Renner's ex wife Sonni Pacheco claims he threatened to kill her while he was drunk and high on cocaine
Jeremy Renner and ex-wife Sonni Pacheco's custody battle over their 6-year-old daughter Ava has brought forth a shocking allegation. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Pacheco alleged that Renner threatened to kill her while he was on cocaine and alcohol. The 'American Pie' actress also claimed that Renner put a gun in his mouth and said he would kill himself and fired the gun into the ceiling while Ava was asleep in her bedroom and left cocaine in the bathroom that was within Ava's reach. Renner and Pacheco share custody of their child but Pacheo claims he is not a good father and is fighting for sole custody.
According to the documents, he had told someone at a club that he "could not deal with her anymore, and he just wanted her gone" in November last year. Pacheo also alleged that Renner was emotionally and verbally abusive and had a problem with drugs. She also alleged that at one point, their nanny overheard him saying that he wanted to off himself and Pacheco, saying "it was better that Ava had no parents than to have [Sonni] as a mother".
A rep for Renner slammed the claims and told TMZ, " the well-being of his daughter Ava has always been and continues to be the primary focus for Jeremy. This is a matter for the court to decide. It's important to note the dramatizations made in Sonni's declaration are a one-sided account made with a specific goal in mind." He said that she was just making up the allegations and that he does not have a substance abuse problem. He also said that he allegedly went for random drug tests for three months and claimed that the tests were negative.
Renner also claimed that Pacheco timed her public attacks during his movie premieres so as to get him bad press and was obsessed with demonizing him. The two tied the knot in 2014 and then divorced a year later.
