LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The ‘Jeopardy! Master’ competition has already gotten tougher as the semi-finals approach, which will take place on May 22 and 23. With six terrific contestants on board who played outstandingly well, ‘Jeopardy! Masters’ sadly eliminated two of its lowest competitors from the game.

On a recent episode, ‘Jeopardy! Masters’ host Ken Jennings surprised fans with the elimination of two competitors -- Sam Buttery (who bears an uncanny resemblance to Steve Martin) and Amy Schneider. Fans were left deeply saddened by Sam’s elimination in sixth place as he failed to win a single match at all. The Professor Tournament Champion was one of the popular returning players. A particular fan referred to Sam with a paternal tone, showing his affection for him, while Ken Jennings shared his support by liking his tweet. The game is left with four players to enter the semi-finals.

Sam Buttery’s heartwarming farewell from ‘Jeopardy! Masters’

‘Jeopardy! Masters’ has entered the home stretch after the show paired down its champions from six to four. The first champion eliminated was Sam Buttery, who didn’t win the match at all. During Sam’s final Q&A, he shared his gratefulness and thanked the writers, while co-contestant Matt Amodio took a moment to appreciate Sam. In the 2022 Tournament of Champions, Sam beat 38-time champion Matt. Given that Matt’s a “lowly postdoc while Sam is a professor”, there are no hard feelings on the board, says Matt. He adds Sam is the "dearest friend I've made in all of Jeopardy! so, thank you so much, Sam”. Sam replies while sharing a winning hug, “Aw give it up!” Additionally, ‘Jeopardy!’ host Ken Jennings bid his goodbyes, adding it was an “absolute pleasure” having Sam on the show and he was “absolutely a Master”.

‘That’s father’

‘Jeopardy! Masters’ fans are saddened over Sam Buttery's elimination as he was one of the kindest and best champions on the show, regardless of his winnings. A particular fan referred to Sam with a paternal tone as he wrote, “"That’s father.” - me, any time Sam Buttrey is onscreen”. Other fans of Sam Buttery’s took to social media to share their goodbyes as one Twitter user wrote, “SAM, YOU WERE, ARE AND ALWAYS WILL BE A TRUE #JEOPARDY MASTER!”, another added, “Goodbye for now, Sam. We'll miss you”.

Many fans gushed over Sam and Matt’s friendship hug taking to social media as one fan wrote, “We need a spin-off show with Matt and Sam,” while another added, “Awwww Matt and Sam friendship”. Another posted, “We love Sam obviously. And so does the rest of the Jeopardy! World. (Matt can't help himself) #BringIt all the feels & hugs!”
