CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA: 'Jeopardy!' host and former contestant Ken Jennings is a man of many interests. A 74-day champ of the game show, he is proven to have extensive knowledge of anything and everything, with no one even coming close to his record.

He recently shared a new hobby that he has picked up with his followers on Twitter. Everyone who's been following the game show or Jennings would know that he is a dedicated reader. But his might be one of his most interesting reads ever!

Ken Jennings learns Victorian Slang

The 'Jeopardy!' host tweeted the book he has currently picked up for a quick read. It is, quite accurate to Jennings, called 'Mental Floss: The Curious Compendium of Wonderful Words: A Miscellany of Obscure Terms, Bizarre Phrases & Surprising Etymologies'. The picture showed the host holding a hardcover with a purple binding and beautiful embossing of the long title.

He seems to have specifically gotten curious about the segment on Victorian slang as he said in the tweet, "I’m learning some new Victorian slang thanks to my chuckaboos at @mental_floss, who sent me a copy of their new book. It’s bang up to the elephant." The slang used here "bang up to the elephant" is explained in the picture shared by him with the meaning "perfect, complete, unapproachable".

Jennings' own writing adventures

Not many people know that Jennings is a writer himself. He has authored many books during and after his time as a contestant on 'Jeopardy!'. These include a series of educational books for children called 'Ken Jennings' Junior Genius Guides' which includes around seven books about different topics related to history, geography, species, and other interesting subjects.

He recently came out with another book called '100 Places to See After You Die: A Travel Guide to the Afterlife' in which he covers major locations that are not only relevant historically but also for their popular cultural relevance in recent times. A bit from its summary reads, "Fascinating, funny, and irreverent, this light-hearted memento mori will help you create your very own bucket list—for after you’ve kicked the bucket."
