Jennifer Lopez’s ‘First Love’ co-star David Gandy felt 'talentless' while working with singer as ‘she’s so talented at everything’
LONDON, ENGLAND: The ‘Maid in Manhattan’ star Jennifer Lopez left quite a few of her co-stars awestruck in her career. A celebrity in his own right, Essex-born model David Gandy, 43, was left stunned when he shared the screen with the ‘First Love’ crooner. Gandy was personally chosen by Lopez to play her lover in the 2014 single ‘First Love’, which was a part of her album ‘A.K.A’.
While appearing on the ‘Shuffle Skip Repeat’ Podcast, Gandy told the hosts Lorcan & Yuki that compared to the multitalented star, he felt “pretty talentless,” admitting candidly, “The thing with J.Lo is that she's so talented at everything – acting, singing dancing,” before adding, “I am pretty talentless compared to her.”
'There's got to be some kind of dancing with her'
Diving into his memories of the time he shared the screen with ‘The Mother’ star, Gandy recalled Lopez’s penchant for being a perfectionist, “Every time there's got to be some kind of dancing with her. But it's not just a little two-step, it's a full-on routine and I just stand there and go, 'Oh, God'. And she said to me, 'You hate this, don't you?' and I said, 'Yes, I do’.”
Gandy also recently appeared in a Dolce & Gabbana advertisement alongside Lopez. However, it’s not that only he is a fan of the former ‘American Idol’ judge, as Lopez has also admitted to being a fan of the model. Lopez has been known to admit that Gandy is her “celebrity crush,” adding, “This guy - he is almost perfect,” as per Daily Mail.

'She's a total professional, a diva'
Gandy is not Lopez’s only co-star to be left flabbergasted by the Hollywood diva’s megastar personality. Bad Bunny, who collaborated with Lopez in their single, ‘Te Guste’, once revealed in 2018 that he “was so nervous” while making the video. "To be honest, I barely said a word to her because I was so nervous. I felt the pressure," Bad Bunny admitted, as per Et Mas. However, he confessed that the experience was nonetheless “great”, conceding, "It was a great experience working with her. She's a total professional, a diva, a mega-star, not just in music but in the entertainment industry. You always learn from the greats, and J.Lo is one."
Even the SKIMS founder Kim Kardashian has admitted in the past that she is a “fangirl” of the ‘Hustlers’ star. In 2018, she organized a movie night with Jennifer Lopez in her Los Angeles home, which her family also attended. Lopez's movie ‘Second Act’ was played. Kardashian revealed through her Instagram story during that time, as reported by People, “I’m having a movie night at my house,” before adding, “Never in my life would I have imagined that my idol would want to come have a movie night with me.”
Kardashian also credited Lopez for being her “inspiration” in the styling department saying, “My inspiration for everything has been Jennifer Lopez,” before adding, “I would try and see what shoes she’d wear, what makeup, what hair — I became obsessed with glam because of Jennifer.”
Sharing a video where Lopez could be seen laughing in the background, Kardashian concluded, “I never would have imagined this would have been my life,” saying, “I always fangirl for her. Dreams do come true, guys!”
‘He's my biggest fan’
Despite all this, no one can beat Ben Affleck in being Lopez’s greatest fan. While talking about her album ‘This Is Me...Now’ in 2022, Lopez said to Zane Lowe of Apple Music 1, "He loves that album. He loves that music. He knows all of the words. You know what I mean? It's crazy. He also was with me while I was creating it," adding that Affleck is her greatest supporter, "He knows it so well and he loves it so much. He's my biggest fan, which is awesome, and supporter. When he came back into my life again, the same thing happened where I felt so inspired and so overtaken with emotion that it was just pouring out of me."
