Jennifer Lopez is named one of GQ's 'Men of the year' as she reveals why she did 'Hustlers' for free
Jennifer Lopez, 50, was named as one of GQ's 'Men of The Year' alongside the likes of Robert de Niro, Al Pacino, and Tyler, The Creator.
She has been featured on one of the covers of GQ's December Issue. As part of her interview, Lopez spoke about a variety of different things ranging from producing and acting the film to her relationship with Alex Rodriguez. She also revealed that she had done 'Hustlers' for 'free'.
Lopez revealed that she was not paid to do the star-studded movie 'Hustlers' and said, "I didn’t get paid a whole bunch of money for Hustlers. I did it for free and produced it. Like Jenny from the Block—I do what I love". The 'Get Right' singer also revealed that the movie had become a movement and aimed at upturning patriarchy.
"This is our movie, where we run s***. They know it's all women producers, woman directors, woman writers, all women starring in it. We've been watching men take advantage of women in movies for a long time, so it was a fun ride to see the tables turned," she shared.
Lopez's cover is very straightforward and shows her going make-up free as she stares into the camera. She had her blonde locks left loose to fall around her face. The inside pages of GQ showed Lopez posing in a stunning black body clinging leather strapless dress.
The 'Second Act' actress also spoke about her partner Alex Rodriguez and got candid on how they make each other better. "I mean, we're very similar. We're really alike in our drive, in our ambition. He's an athlete. He wanted to be the best. I'm the same way. I just want to be great at what I do. We're both like that," she shared.
"We're both super-hard workers. We're driven by our passions. And we have a tremendous amount of respect for each other," she added. The couple had got engaged in March after being together for around two years.
