'Twenty years patient': JLo and Ben Affleck say 'I do' in Vegas, fans remark she ‘could’ve kept her last name’
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez finally said “I DO” after first getting engaged 20 years ago. The Hollywood star duo, who reunited almost a year ago, tied the knot in a very simple wedding in Las Vegas. Ben and Jennifer, fondly called 'Beniffer' by their fans, obtained a marriage license in Clark County, Nevada.
Jennifer Lopez, in a newsletter to her fans, shared a bunch of photos from their intimate wedding sending their loyal fans into a tizzy. According to reports, the acclaimed singer took Affleck’s last name, calling herself 'Mrs Jennifer Lynn Affleck' which also quickly became a matter of discussion on the Internet. The 52-year-old songstress also shared a sweet note with their fans saying “Love is patient” referring to the time they broke up and now coming back stronger than ever. On Instagram, meanwhile, Lopez showed off her brand new wedding ring as she smiled while showing off her natural looks while topless under white sheets.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez make it official
In her newsletter, according to Deadline, Lopez stated, “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient. Exactly what we wanted.” An excited JLo continued, “Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world.”
She continued, “We read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives. They even had Bluetooth for a (short) march down the aisle” adding, “But in the end it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last.”
Lopez, 52, wore a white textured long gown paired with a simple silver bracelet and pair of earrings. Her hair was left in long, loose curls as she opted for a neutral-toned smokey eye and a nude cheek and lip to finish her wedding look. Affleck, 49, was dressed in a white shirt and a cream suit jacket completed with a simple black bowtie. For an accessory, he wore a simple white rose pinned to his jacket's lapel.
Lopez's most recent relationship which ended was with Alex Rodriguez and Affleck is coming out of a marriage with Jennifer Garner. JLo shares 14-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Affleck shares three kids with Garner: Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10. People reported that Lopez's mother and Emme and Max Muñiz were there in the chapel to witness the wedding. The newsletter released by JLo includes a picture of Emme posing in the pink Cadillac.
The singer in an interview with People magazine earlier opened up about how getting back with Affleck made a difference as compared to years ago. "We're older now, we're smarter, we have more experience, we're at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things," said Lopez adding, “It's a beautiful outcome that this has happened in this way at this time in our lives where we can really appreciate and celebrate each other and respect each other. We always did, but we have even more of an appreciation because we know that life can take you in different directions." Affleck and Lopez first dated from 2002 to 2004.
